You dont have to attack my opinion. @bert also prefers Quinn if i remember correctly.

Why do you prefer Quinn over Rossi though?

All of the games i've seen its clear that Rossi runs the team. To me its sort of like picking a Hoffman over a Stone. Hoffman is a great player and can single handedly break open games but Stone is the type of player who makes all of his teammates better.

And before I get grilled yes I know that Quinn is a good defensive player im just contrasting the type of offensive impacts they have.

So I'm just curious what you see that makes you prefer Quinn over Rossi.

I would prefer crazy talented Pashin over Abramov any day. Theo Fleury is even smaller than Pashin, but finished his NHL career with a point per game.
Pashin is no Theo Fleury. I have seen clips of him and the Scouching report on him. I dont see a player that will gave success in the NHL.

So much skill, big risk but we have so many picks

I just re-watched the Scouching Report on Pashin and I don't see that high end skill that people on here are excited about. I am somewhat familiar with the prospects from the MHL and there is a long list of players that I would look to target ahead of him. I will offer you a list here. As a note I can only embed three videos so I will provide the rest as links for highlights on some of the players.

Dmitri Rashevsky
61 GP 44 G 30 A 74 PTS

Marat Khusnutdinov

44 GP 13 G 25 A 38 PTS

Dmitri Ovchinnikov

54 GP 24 G 31 A 55 PTS

Maxim Beryozkin
51 GP 25 G 29 A 54 PTS

Alexander Gordin
59 GP 39 G 29 A 69 PTS

Ivan Didkovsky
37 GP 20 G 13 A 33 PTS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXIBDu8JnLo

Ivan Zinchenko
41 GP 13 G 10 A 23 PTS

Kirill Kondyrev
62 GP 16 G 13 A 29 PTS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nJCnQilQa0&t=61s

Then there are other solid prospects like Maxim Groshev, Maxim Krovyakov, Danil Bashkirov, Pavel Tyutnev, Bogdan Trineyev among others. Then there are some prospects I am less familiar with but look talented such as:

Dmitri Sheshin
61 GP 31 G 40 A 71 PTS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0FI7YFIV9o

Artyom Zhuk
51 GP 21 G 23 A 44 PTS

Yegor Chinakov
56 GP 27 G 42 A 69 PTS

Ilya Altybarmakyn
51 GP 20 G 20 A 40 PTS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CL4VQt2b0C4

Then there is a prospect like Nasser Sobhy who played in Belarus this season.

Nasser Sobhy
55 GP 9 G 9 A 18 PTS

Then sticking with Russian/Belarusian forward prospects from the CHL there is:

Egor Sokolov

Rossi is amazing....but it really looks like Quinn is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential. That's very intriguing. Also quite risky, considering we couldn't get the end of the season and playoffs to see if what he was doing could hold up over a longer period.

Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong picking either in the top 10.

Not sure how I did but I like the first round. Tried to draft based on needs and there’s a few ‘character’ guys though I suspect Ottawa will draft way more of those than the risky skill guys.

Much better size
Better skating, and faster
Better shot. Nhl level already.
Better goal scorer
Has good vision
Works hard
Sound defensively
Drives his own offense

there’s a lot to like. He looks more dynamic to me. If Rossi was bigger and faster I’d prefer him. Quinn is no Hoffman type.

Me too.
- Ottawa needs a RWer who can produce pts & goals.
- I don't see Rossi as a centre in the NHL, more likely a LWer
- he would be behind Tkachuk, Stutzle & IMO Formenton on LW
- he would be behind L. Brown, Norris, White & Stutzle (if he plays centre) at centre
- remember Corey Locke who so many thought was a great player that never made it big? How about DaCosta? Prince? ...

1. What websites is everyone using for these mock drafts? I’m having a hard time finding it - stupid DuckDuckGo.

2. I have no reservations with Rossi. People are conflating his height and his weight - looking at his floor when they should be thinking about his ceiling.

3. Drafting for need is a no-no in this draft. If we end up with two left wings with our top two and we already have Chucky - who cares. That’s who we are as a team and that’s how we’ll beat you.

When I am discussing Rossi I am talking about his ceiling. His floor should be ok, I think he’s a guaranteed nhler, but his ceiling is the thing I question because of his size and lack of speed.

Word. In terms of career impact for Rossi I see a 30% Magnus Arvidsson, 50% Mats Zuccarello, 20% Martin St. Louis type probabilities.
