Oh damn, that would be pretty cool to watch. Hopefully I can find a decent stream.
Sanderson is currently my second ranked defenseman after Drysdale, mostly based on how solid (though unspectacular) he's looked against much older NCAA competition. I'm interested to see what he'll do against high end competition his own age.
I'm torn on Beniers so far this year. Going into the season I was thinking probably top five or ten for 2021, but having seen him in a couple games against NCAA opponents, he shows flashes of brilliance, but he's getting outmuscled, outsmarted and outclassed all over the ice. Would love to see what he can do at a thing like this.
I'm also a really big fan of Luke Tuch. Every time I go into a NTDP game focused on Beniers or Smilanic or Sanderson, but Tuch always grabs my attention. He's an excellent puck protector, a real solid body checker, and while his raw offensive tools might not be high end, but he sacrifices his body in front of the net and he's clever as a fox.
Also I've hardly seen any of the non-NTDP guys besides bits and pieces of Hlinkas and WJAC.
Lol just saw that exchange on twitter. Pretty funny. Weird this opinion comes after buttons list gets released. Weak. Well find out on draft day if stutzle is taken before byfieldAJ Jakubec has Stutzle ranked ahead of Byfield now. Byfield is just still so young. Tough call.
Unless you're of the opinion that Thomson and JBD are sure-fire top 4 RDs (which I'm not), I think drafting a future top pairing RD like Drysdale would be a smart move if he's the BPA.
Chabot - Drysdale
Brannstrom - JBD
Wolanin - Zaitsev
Thomson, Jaros
Pretty good looking future D.

Do you have any concerns about your pairings in the defensive zone given how Chabot has played defensively recently & pairing him with another offensive small defenceman?

Drysdale, Brannstrom & Thomson all on defence at the same time is going to be a small soft defence, than add Chabot who plays a soft defensive game is going to be a very big concern defensively, don't you think? Most will likely talk all about how great they will be offensively & how we will win games 10 to 9, some crazy exaggeration, but you know in the NHL with a lot of big teams how is that going to work exactly? Is that a concern for you defensively or does the offence out weight the defensive liabilities?Drysdale isn't that small at somewhere between 5'11 and 6'0.
He's also a two-way defenseman. He puts up big point totals because he's very smart and talented, but he's not one-dimensional at all.

Why is that weak. AJ is not a scout but I promise you his opinion is his own. He is not one to piggy back on someone else’s opinion. Stutzle is one of the best players in a men’s league according to many who know that league.Lol just saw that exchange on twitter. Pretty funny. If you have Demelo on your top pairing, your team is going nowhereI honestly really like DeMelo as a Chabot partner of the future. He compliments him so well.
I love Drysdale though so tough call.
IMO you are wrong about this.If you have Demelo on your top pairing, your team is going nowhere
