One game tonight and it's already underway (sorry for the late arrival).

I can't say it enough, I am very excited for both Maximov and Safin as NHL prospects. Chia really has done a superb job from top to bottom of this organization.
Berglund has 4 points in 6 games in the SHL thus far. Swedish right hand shooting D with offense... *whistles*
Wont happen, but imagine a top 4 of:
Klefbom-Larsson
Lagesson-Berglund
Paigin had a good rookie year in the KHL, faced injury and has been underwhelming sinceWas just gonna mention Berglund. Definitely a promising start to the season for him. It's not easy to score points in SHL, even less so for defensemen, so what he's doing (numbers-wise) is impressive. Definitely a dark horse to be an impact player in the NHL. I hope he comes over next year. A lot more excited/curious about him than Paigin.

This maybe true, but after seeing Rundblad flop I must say that unless the player is a can't miss prospect I'd pump the brakes on their play until we see them in NA.

Haven't seen enough of Berglund to say that he isn't Rundblad, although I heavily doubt it. Rundblad was a highly flawed and overrated prospect. I actually had a bet with a friend of mine who was a season ticket holder of Skellefteå that Rundblad would never become a full-time NHLer. This was back
in his draft year or post-draft year, somewhere around there.
Well this could be pretty much be said about any prospect in any Euro league (or even AHL). There will always be an example of a prospect putting up big points in a pro league, then flopping in the NHL. It is still appropriate to get exicted when a prospect is doing well statisictally in another pro league, because more often than not, prospects who do good in a pro league transition better to the NHL than prospects who do not
Runblad is a valid example, although people were projecting him as a star and #1D. I think with Berglund we can all agree hes a long shot, but him doing well in SHL gives hope for him to even just make the NHL in some regard
Bear with his first AHL goal, from JP!
