Pretty good night for the CHL prospects. Good to see Safin starting to get rewarded with all those shots. Was only a matter of time with the shot he possesses.

Aidan Muir, Vincent Desharnais and Ostap Safin in action tonight as well. Also Filip Berglund played this morning.

Thanks for catching that. I was probably looking at Sunday's games in the Q. The three CHL sites' schedule scroll bars have a bug where they go right to the end of the games they show, usually the next night's games, and if one wants to go back, it shoots all the way to the first game on the list, two or three days earlier, rather than just jumping one game at a time.

Getting pummeled 8-1 and having an assist and being even is pretty impressive lol

Filip Berglund, RD 6'3" 209 lbs, quietly at 1 G 3A in 7 GP in SHL. That's good enough for 10th overall in the league.

He was benched in one game so his
TOI average is around 16 mins, but normally it can be 18-19 mins.

These are really really good signs, it is very difficult to get ice time and put up points in the SHL for young D.

I saw the game before this last and he actually had a couple of very good chances/shots. He has really brought stability to his teams blue line with excellent D and composure. If he starts producing as well that would be icing on the cake :)

I AM going to update this ASAP. The insert table function is no longer present (I saw it like 3 days ago) so I'm going to have to figure out the new code so we can look at some stats in one message without it looking like a disaster.

Missed posting this game today but it didn't matter. Peterborough Petes ran over the North Bay Battalion 7-3. Dylan Wells had the day off.

The latest thing I heard about Benson was that the Giants doctors kinda messed up something and that's why his recovery is taking longer than expected. If there's any kind of truth to that then it makes a lot of sense that the Oilers want to keep him in Edmonton until they're 100% satisfied he's healthy.

I'd honestly be surprised if he manages to have an NHL career. Too often injured. I have no idea what we have with this player

That's true. I posted it and got it from a hockey dad whose son knows Benson.

I'm curious about picking him up as an NA for my fantasy league, but what are your feelings on Bear? When do you think he'll be up in the NHL and what kind of role do you think he will have (if he does)?

He MIGHT get a game or 2 this year. He is at least a full season away.

I'm okay with him being in the league full time next year, if that happens. What kind of player do you think he'll be when he's in the league? A PP1 kind of guy?

It's been the same injury though. If I'm the Oilers I'm sitting him out all season if needed to make sure he's healthy and then getting him the hell away from the Vancouver Giants.

He has played a combined total of 63 games in the last 2 years. If he sits out another whole year he is done. Guy is missing key development time due to injury and if he misses another year thats a massive disapointment.
He was a high risk high reward player but the constant injuries makes him seem like a wasted pick and a wasted contract.
