Looking at Swedish roster from last year... It was pretty good team... OEL, Klingberg, Forsberg, Eriksson, Lindholm, Rask, Klefbom, Ekholm and group of very good veterans from Europe. I'm very happy that I was able to attend that fantastic game vs Canada from group stage.

Tobias Enström - Jonas Brodin
Alexander Edler - Adam Larsson
Niclas Burström - Erik Gustavsson

Linus Klasen - Victor Rask - Fredrik Pettersson
Linus Omark - Mika Zibanejad - André Petersson
Joakim Lindström - Mikael Backlund - Oscar Möller
Joel Lundqvist - Alexander Wennberg - Jimmie Ericsson

With the current NHL-Standings....

Enström and Edler is players that always refuse to play in World Championship.....but this time it will be their only way into World Cup.

To bad that so many always turn down. But if everyone would say yes, we could put up something like this with just the players that are missing the playoff right now.

D Sedin - H Sedin - Johnson
Backlund - Zibanejad - Omark
Lindholm - Rask - Klasen
Lundqvist - Wennberg - Petersson
Tedenby

Brodin - Karlsson
OEL - Larsson
Klefbom - Edler
Enström

Lehner
Markström
Läck

Then we also have players that would have been available after being eliminated in the playoffs, basically no big difference in the end from a olympic team if everyone would say yes.

Will not even watch WC unless Sweden throw some youngsters on the team. Sick of the same old SHL players every year.

As much as I would like to believe that there is a remote chance that we will get a team like that for the WC I know it won't happen. Many swedish KHL players even elect not to play in the WC many of the young players have a downright disgusting attitude towards the national team.

Comments about including less NHL'ers this year worries me.

A whole Carolina line (Nordstrom - Rask - Lindholm) could be a good 2nd line on the WC team. But I wonder if any of them even gets invited. Sounds like some players, that are on the verge of the World Cup team, may not get a chance to showcase themselves.

The 2013 WC team that won gold couldn't score goals to save their lives until the Sedin's arrived. The results from then:

2-3 loss against Switzerland
2-1 win against Czech Republic
2-1 win against Belarus (the deciding goal came with 8 and half minutes left)
5-1 win against Norway (Sweden only leading 2-1 with 16 minutes left to play)
0-3 loss against Canada
2-0 win against Slovenia

In these six games, Sweden combined for 220 shots on goal and only scored 13 goals. And then came the twins.

The memory must be short. It seems to be the case with the media. Hopefully it isn't with the managment.

The Euro team is better.....

Bolded the forwards I think would make sense to add to the euro group based on needs. Forget Nylander, Marlies are running away with the AHL.

Omark-Backlund-Möller
Zibanejad-Rask-Lindholm
Klasen-Sjögren-Petersson
Zachrisson-Lundqvist-Ericsson
Lindström, Engqvist

Not counting on Pettersson, Johnson is close.

I thought Jacob Josefson had a good tournament last year and I wouldn't mind him back.

The Euro team is in no shape or frorm better. Just look at that top 6 its very small and wont be any good against the better teams. The centers wont produce much they are good 2 way players I give you that. If we go with an all Euro team we be at the same lvl as Switzerland. Most players cant produce points when the skill lvl and pace of the game goes up.

I hope that Wennberg gets invited.

He's just sssoooo good. Stalberg likes the bigger rinks with his speed. Adam Larsson is also great, a top shut down defenceman.

Erik Karlsson has been over-used. All those 30+ minute games has taken its toll, he has looked horrendous in his last 5-6 games.

I really hope that OEL comes.
