While sort of happy about clearing that roster spot, I understand it has to be incredibly frustrating for Clarkson. His career fizzled out so fast (assuming this is a career-ending type back injury we've been hearing about).

Still not that optimistic because...Jackets.

I hope clarkson has a long healthy life going forward. Back injuries are no joke.

Portzline tweeted that Werenski will probably miss the first week of training camp due to a groin injury.

I was afraid of that.

Following the off day on September 30, the number of groups does down from four to two. I'm thinking the 30th could be the day a lot of players are sent to Cleveland or juniors.

Based on the CBJ's recent tweets, it looks like camp practices on the main rink will be open to the public as well.

Mixer and Portzline's tweets re:Werenski are conflicting. I guess we'll see in the next day or two if he's healthy enough to participate. IMO, he should be held out until he's 100% ready to go. No need to push him, he's basically got a spot locked up on the roster.

By "all practices" being open, do they mean morning skates for the game group for home (and Pittsburgh) preseason games as well?

My first thought upon seeing this news was "Suck it, Mains."

Exactly. Why take a risk when you don't have to.

Says he has retracted his list of teams he'd approve a trade to. Will end his career in Columbus.

i think it's smart of Hartnell...and I'm fine with it...he played well for us and he isn't overly paid...hopefully he helps bring a good culture here of ppl saying and ACTING like they want to win here...

Underpaid.

I was worried this whole trade talk over Hartnell would mess with his sensitive side but glad that is over now.

Somebody had to state the obvious. :D

By the way, I have called the Jackets' office re: the morning skates for the game group being open on preseason game days. I will report back when/if I get a call back.
