Chabot's hype is getting a little overboard here. Many people said similar things about both Silf and Rundblad, and neither panned out to the level people were hoping. There are also Filatov, Hodgson, Schenn, Gudbrandson, etc.

I really like what I see in Chabot, but he's still a prospect. Saying he's untouchable is pretty ridiculous.

Naw, Chabot ain't no Swede Debbie...

I think if BM were to make a deal for Duschene, if he is even available, that they would want a 1st rd pick in the deal plus a good defenseman prospect like Wikstrand or Wiercioch if they want an NHL defenceman & maybe a guy like Prince an up & coming NHL ready prospect scoring winger. I would not give them Zibanejad since that to me is basically an even swap nor would I give them Lazar or Ceci or any other of our good young players. I like Duschene as a 3rd line centre in Ottawa pushing Zibanejad for his 2nd line job. Pageau might have to go the other way too.

Duchene could be our #1 center. Him and Turris would be 1a/1b anyways. I don't think there would ever be a scenario where he would be lower than Zib on the depth chart.

Both Turris & Zianejad are ahead of Duschene in pts so far this season, I just don't see Turris being replaced at this point, he has been terrific this yr but Zibanejad could certainly be challenged.

Chabot is not untouchable, but I'd say its likely the Sens now value his at a 5th-8th OV pick. Duchene is likely around that as well, probably with a small +. When you consider that Chabot fills a huge short and long term need while C is literally our last long term need, it just seems unlikely that there will be a fit there.

C depth, longterm:
1. Turris
2. Zibanejad
3. White
4. Lazar
5. Pageau
6. Chlapik

That is pretty insane, especially considering 4 of those guys are already NHL regulars and all but Turris are under 23. Now, lets do the same but with LD depth:

1. Methot (almost 30)
2. Chabot
3. Cowen
4. Englund
5. Wiercioch
6. Wikstrand
7. Claesson

Not so bad. But if we trade Chabot, its prettttty terrible.
