Hall- Hopkins - Eberle
Weird how we haven't seem them together much so far but we know this is going to end up happening. Yakupov has to start learning how to play hockey properly before this line can be changed up IMO.
Pouliot-LD-Purcell
If Leon is staying in the NHL this year I don't think I'm alone when I say I want him to be playing with responsible (Pouliot has good possession stats) and experienced players. Sure. Nobody on this line is going to score 60 points... but nobody on this line should be -20, either. I like that there's also a lot of size on this line so that Leon doesn't get forced into doing too much heavy lifting early into his career.
Perron-Yakimov-Yakupov
First thing is to remind Perron to stop rushing down the ice so often. After that this line should be OK. Yakimov doesn't get caught out of position too often and Yakupov has a chance to play with some guys with good offensive upside.
I truly bee live that Yakupov will be traded this year if he doesn't make things work. And I'm flat out not really into what Arcobello and Lander have been doing thus far, so I'm happy to go with this combo.
Seriously, who is going to claim Acrobello or Lander off of waivers? The Flames? They're welcome to do it.
Hendricks-Gordon-Pitlick
Great shutdown line. If Pitlick stays healthy this line will be very beastly for us.
Extra forward - Gazdic. Seriously... he dominated last year. Don't know how you could keep him off of the team. For a fighter he's not the worst player out there either.
Since Nikitin is out for 2 weeks I'm thinking....
Klefbom-Fayne
Just tell Klefbom to relax and play simple hockey and it should be OK.
Marincin-Petry - They'll play more shutdown minutes while Nikitin is out. When he comes back they'll get a more balanced mix of minutes.
Ference - Schultz - Lots and lots of offensive zone starts.
Extra d-man - Aulie
Sorry Nurse. You only look so awesome because you're such an awesome freak of athleticism at this point. Love your offence and love your hustle. You're going to be a true 1st pairing d-man in the NHL but we can't afford to give you a ton of minutes right now.
Continue to work on your passing and your defensive play against those wimps in the CHL and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of you next year.
