ditch all the vets, even if it means fewer wins.

In other news, Biggs has been recalled to the Marlies. Good for him, hope he keeps it up.

That was fast...I'm glad that the Leafs own their own ECHL team 100% this year...The organizatioon is using the baseball model somewhat in terms of having different levels of Pro development...The ECHL could be viewed as the AA and the Marlies as AAA.

Marlies have to make money too.

That, and the fact that ice-time isn't all that matters when it comes to development. A team full of 20-23 year olds probably isn't going to be a very good team, which is fine, but its hard to develop your game when your just getting thumped every night. Having a few vets around sets an example and helps the team play in different situations, defending leads, going on playoff runs, etc.

Honestly, what's more important? Playoff runs for the Leivo's and Carrick's, or getting Brad Ross fourth line minutes on a crappy team?

AHL time might actually have been good for Kadri's development if he had been used as the #1 C playing in all situations.

The funny thing is, even when they finally put Kadri at center, they would make Zigomanis take all his draws.

And now they wonder why he isn't better on faceoffs.

Anyone know if the Leafs employ a face-off specialist "coach"?..They could afford to hire a tutor for Kadri...Why are all the Bruin players so good at faceoffs? I'm sure they weren't all great at it coming out of junior...They must have a good development program.

Apparently Doug Jarvis teaches the Bruins for faceoffs.

Maybe hire Yanick Perreault (sp?) :dunno:

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but in an interview with Loov he was asked about the NA game and something about it that surprised him this was his response.

Nothing really has surprised me. Expect I thought there would be more fighting over here in North America but people have been telling me other teams are afraid of our fighters so I guess that is good for me.

Just picked up a couple WJC tickets to the Sweden-Denmark game on December 27th.

It cost about 90 bucks for a couple seats in section 109.

the work is no big deal.

I just don't know what value there is in prorating a different number for each league. How is that helpful?

It's more of an indication of what to expect from a full season. Prorating NCAA stats to 82 games is pretty meaningless when you consider that they play that amount of games (or less) in 2 years.

Tbh, I don't see the need for prorating to 82 games for prospects, considering that basically 0% of players are able to completely translate their scoring stats from junior/NCAA/Europe to the NHL. Unless you're using g/a/pts to compare guys with a different # of games played, why bother?

It's odd that Orr & Mcclaren are still in the organization. I don't get it...Release them already.

No ones afraid of Broll or Devane yet. Although I don't see a need for both on one team. I'd be cool with Orr being the 13th forward all year. Getting in on 30 or so games. It's not like Carlyle has ever used the 4th line more then 5 or so mins anyway.
