I'm deeply impressed with how Swiss hockey in general has improved over the past decade or so.. They could be a sleeper at Sochi. Then again, they'll surely draw a fair chunk of the spotlight if they manage to beat the Swedes tomorrow. Great about Berra too; regardless of the team in front of him, I'd love for this to mean he's ready to be counted on when it matters most.. Hope he gets the start, can't see why he wouldn't.. Might have to make the time to catch this one

Maybe he will play, maybe it will be Gerber. Both had amazing games !

logically, after the QF where Gerber had an awesome game, he should have played. The coach chose Berra instead. Right choice ... when a SO is the result !!

But who will play in final ? tough guess.
prbably Berra ... to be seen.

And ... yes, Berra is now leading the %saves before Enroth (Sweden)

Yeah... Winning one international matchup with john Gibson as your counterpart doesn't exactly scream NHL starter to me. Its better than a kick in the teeth though and I'm glad that hes doing well.

Shutout for Berra, also named Swiss player of the game. Hope he gets the nod for the final game!

Nope, Martin Gerber plays the final. It was the idea of the coach to have a fresh goalie for the medal game. And if you have 2 such great goalies on the team you can bring your #2 in the semis.

"Simpson would not reveal whether he would go with Berra in net again Sunday or return to former NHL goalie Martin Gerber. Gerber was in net for a 2-1 quarter-final win over the Czechs."

Have you come across anything more recent that confirms tomorrow's starter? Either way, first medal for the Swiss in this tournament in 60 years, be nice to see them win it all.

After the game, Simpson told on swiss tv Gerber will play the final.

Sounds like SUI were in control for the first half of the 1st, and parts of the 2nd before SWE finally took over.. was probably more intense and entertaining of a game than the score would indicate. Congrats to the Swiss on nabbing the silver, exceeded expectations with a heck of a tourney - nothing to be ashamed of.. wonder if Simpson's kicking himself for not starting Yogi though lol ;)
