I like how TSN isn't wasting a lot of time on speculation about this trade, and is just mentioning it in a "Ok, just waiting on you guys..." kind of way.

If it turns out to be Ted looking for attention beyond the actual scale of the trade, holding up the WHOLE NHL WORLD, it's going to backfire on him.

I hope not. If the Caps miss the playoffs, that pick has a chance of being the first overall. No fringe team should trade their first this year.

unless we're part of the bottom 8 or so, there's a stupid-low chance of getting #1. Team 14 (team that barely missed playoffs) has a 0.5% chance.
