I guess ill give it a go even though its slightly irrelevant considering we will most likely have a terrible season. Oh well.. im bored. I assumed due to injuries and unlocked positions on the main roster many players will get a few games here and there. Didnt take into account trades. Last year we iced 10 D and 22 forwards, I have 10 D and 21 forwards listed (I think). Im sure Gaudreau will get a few near the end of the season and Ortio may get a few games. Wasnt impressed with Hanowski (AHL for one season) or Smith last season to deserve much ice time.

In scenario A, the teams GF would be 234 (10th in 2011-12) and scenario B would be 245 (8th in 2011-12).

I'm not trying to troll, as our teams are no longer in the same division and I actually wish the Flames well, but those are some lofty projections for a rebuilding team. I can't see them having a top 10 offense this year.

Anyways, hope you guys have a good year. Please pound the Oilers into the ground for us!

I'm not saying he is right but last year we were tied for 11th in goals for (and were 9th in PP% which feel off over the last few weeks from top 5 because we were playing guys like Hanowski, Reinhart etc on it which won't be on it to start this year) and Iggy and Jbo didn't put most of them up. I think we will be in the top half for goals this year because that is the way Hartley coaches.

I believe we are going to miss Bouwmeester a lot this season in the offensive department. Not that he put up a ton of points but the way he moved the puck.

They were actually tied for 15th, not that it matters.

I just think you might be getting your hopes up a little too much.

I think these are all pretty realistic actually. There's not a single player on there who hasn't hit somewhere around that total in their career except Baertschi and I guess Brodie. Both guys who will be given bigger rolls. Even last year it was painfully obvious the Flames don't have terrible depth they just lack high end talent. Stopping goals from being scored will be a bigger concern then scoring them this year IMO.

We won't have the same offense as last year. I can't see our depth guys scoring much. I love Brodie as much as the next guy but we'd have to expect him to immediately shoulder the role Bouwmeester left to replicate the same offensive totals.

I did actually take into account total goals scored and compared from last season only. I do highly agree we wont produce as much as last season, so thanks Danglesnipe for the reminder. I was just attempting to take into account now that all of our players have moved up in the depth chart that they shouldn't necessarily drop in goal totals, as they will be given more opportunity to score. Maybe some of our lesser role players such as D Jones, Galiardi, Horak should drop a few goals and the better known scorers players could drop a goal or two? Seems more realistic and maintains us in the middle of the NHL for scoring. Our biggest issue shouldnt be our offensive production, but more so our goals against.

I am much more optimistic than most. Boy am I going to be disappointed this year

I really hope Jones rebounds for you guys. He was so disappointing last year that there is just no way he could be as bad. Though that could have been a result from poor coaching and line shifting as well.

I think a lot of those 4th line, bottom tier guys are getting generous numbers. I see a lot of guys playing less than 20 games and putting 0-3 points. If those bottom line/pairing guys are putting up such good ppg pace, they wouldn't have such few games played

Did he not mesh well with Duch or Stastny? Signing that $4 mill contract I assume he was playing top 6 RW for most of last season

Not a single player plays 77.

I think the games are two low. In defense of the OP though, I DO think the Flames will play more total players this year then any other team in league.

I mean, I imagine 50% of the opening day Abbotsford Roster will get atleast a game or 3 or 5 or 10 in Calgary.

Plus you've got the Flames opening season lineup.

So there will be a LOT of turn over, and probably a few trades of vets, Cammy etc., as well.

That said, I could still see Gio or Wideman or Glenny playing 79-82 barring injury

I am going to wait until we have a better idea what the team will look like before I make a prediction.

Good predictions actually. I'm gonna say Brodie cracks 30 though and Jones numbers are slightly higher. All in all, good job.
