from what ive heard (and this is all 2nd hand), he is further along at his age then his brothers were at that age.

The quotes like that are usually referring to Jordan. As mentioned above, Jared didn't even lead his team in scoring last year. I believe he finished 3rd or 4th.

I remember reading fairly recently that Jared isn't even close to being as good as his brothers. I remember checking stats for his team earlier this year and he was well down the list.

I think the hype for him is all based on that Hockey News article from a few years back.
