"He's done a lot of great things for us over the years," Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck said. "But, with his skill set, he has all the tools to be a top-five defenseman in the league. He's got size, he's got speed, he's got skill, he's got a shot. He can do it all."

C'mon Troch. The rest is true, but the bolded? Not yet bud
Thought the same thing as I read this lol.

he's got a shot that rarely hit the Net. Shots 107 Shots% 4.7
So he dont have speed and he doesnt have shot.

Actually....4.7% is how many goals he has on the amount of shots.

5/107 = 4.7%

It means he has hit the net 107 times. The amount of times he has attempted to shoot is 194

107/194 = 55.15% Which is really good seeing as most of his shots are from the point.

So yes, he has a shot that actually hits the net.

He has a High end shot. He has high end skating too as far as edges lateral movement and first couple steps. Only downfall is top speed/ explosiveness.

To bad that in a short ring first Steps and agility is the most important part. And even when he has his top speed, i never saw him catching up a forward, when he hunted the Puck.
So okay he has a shot but cant hit the Net current, but definetly no skating ability.

Aaron Ekblad's game in the offensive zone is superior. His game in the neutral zone is very good. His game in the defensive zone is very poor. His true defensive game without the puck is poor. He is our franchise guy and we have to work with him. The problem is that neither Stralman or Yandle are strong in the defensive zone coverage. The depth of defense we have is not adequate in our own end. The are wonderful when we have the puck, but they leave much to be desired when they don't have it. The only real responsible guy in our own end is Brown and he is just learning the NHL game. Weegar takes too many nights off. Matheson can be good at times and downright scary at other times. Las Vegas simply took advantage of a team which is not "DEFENSIVELY" strong, and Bob was average last night.

Your assessment on Ekblads defense is quite wrong. The only thing potentially poor about him is his speed.

He's better in the defensive zone than he is in the offensive zone...I'm not sure how much you've watched him, but he's our most sound defenseman in the D zone AINEC.
