One good game followed by a Meh game with one big hit. I was there Sunday night and he was awful with the puck. Had the one thunderous hit behind the net. but that was pretty much the end of the positives. Not sure what his FO% was.

It was his usual 50%.

Gonna miss the game cuz I'm gonna see Tame Impala. Here's hoping I come out of an awesome concert for some awesome news. Nash scores a few here.

The only person I feel Kreider should be replacing at this point is Miller. Are you saying Kreider should be playing the 3rd line over Boyle? I'm going to disagree there. Powe's absence puts a damper on the teams speed and CK can actually make the 4th line faster albeit weaker on D.

I also don't see the necessity in having Hapern and Boyle on the same line.

Boyle should never play on the 3rd line. If he does you have a two line team which is easy to defend. having Halpern and Boyle on the same line gives you a defensive line where each guy can take the draws on their strong side. CK is wasted on the 4th line. if that is the plan send him down.

You know what? For the sake of you, me and everyone else on this board, I'm just not going to delve into another Boyle crusade. ;)

The coaches need to sit Kreider down and tell him to watch every play Pacioretty and Cole make on the other side. Bourque is another one. Those are the types of players he should be watching. Those are the types of players he needs to emulate his game after.

Can we give this kid more than 8 games in the NHL to figure it out? Torts is panicking. The kid has the ability. Let him play; he'll figure it out.

if mash plays over kreider, i want torts fired. mash over kreider shows that torts would rather hold his own personal grudges than do what is roght for the team. not the first time he would be doing this though. for example he sent emi and kreider to the ahl while keeping stu bickel up like common WTF

tHIS IS the perfect example of people here thinking they know more then a nhl coach.. Kreider is my favorite ranger and i love his game but he needs to play top 6 minutes and be a force in the line up not 4th line minutes with a face off specialist and a enforcer. the canadians play a physical game and dress a few guys willing to throw down so torts wants a grinder more then a goal scorer tonight. did you notice we are on a hot streak? go hank go rangers

Prust is on the Habs 3rd line. They are doing pretty well.

Prust is not a center and he is better than Boyle. Has better hands, is a significantly more agile skater, and has a better touch around the net although he's not that good in that regard either. So, not sure what one things has to do with the other. I'm sure he is there out of necessity and because of the paycheck. They cannot give him 4th line minutes with what he is making. He has 4th line skills.

Habs fan here coming in peace. Going to the game tonight. Always seems to be a great atmosphere at MSG when the Habs come to town.

As far as tonight goes...It's the Habs' third game in four nights. Price should return after battling the flu and he usually doesn't fair well in MSG as a few posters noted. That's worrisome from a Habs perspective. Prust should be amped. Habs missing their rookie Gallagher which stinks. Watch for Bourque and Plekanec..probably best players. Habs will struggle to contain Nash driving to the net (as everyone does!)--may put Emelin on him to go for some big hits.

Good luck guys. Always fun!

Yup, Kreider or anyone else shouldn't be given a top-6 role - it should be earned! And the same goes for critisizing the organization and / or the coach - we all have our favorites but it shouldn't prevent one from judging things from the overall team's perspective regardless of the favorites. For me I'd say pretty much all Torts moves make sense even if some of them are more subjective than others.

Excited to see Prust although I'm sure he will be looking to make a few big hits and throw down with someone on the rangers....

This team seems to be getting in a groove of sorts, but I still hold a strong belief that this team has to do something with the third line. The rangers are becoming a team that really only has two scoring lines. Move Boyle down to the fourth line and he will become the best 4th liner in the league. Defensive zone/PK specialist... he shouldn't be centering a 3rd line. He has never made players around him better and now we are just putting a 3rd line out there that we know WILL NOT score goals

Kreider has to find a place to play, How is sitting on the bench better than not playing? If he isn't going to play on the rangers fine...Then send him down and let Connecticut KNOW that he has to play there and not to send him back up.

I'm not really sure how to figure it all out but why not:
Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Kreider-Richards-Gaborik
Pyatt-Halpern-Callahan
Asham-Boyle-Mashinter/Powe

send down miller

I know people won't agree with Halpern on the third line, but from what I've seen this season he has more speed/play-making ability than Boyle.

He's actually on the 3rd line because we started the season with 2 rookies (Gallagher and Galchenyuk). His job was to look out for them.

He's whiffed on some beautiful set-ups by the rookies, but he crashes the net well and certainly hasn't looked out of place on the 3rd line. Based on his play for us this season I can't understand why he couldn't be a 3rd liner.

Prusts' canonization has gotten a little grating lately. He's no longer in a Rangers uniform. Our guys can straight lay wood to him for all I care.

Kreider and Bickel only two players left on ice with Biron. Good indication they're healthy scratches tonight.

I would. Prust is going to wear hated Habs uniform, while Asham would be fighting for the Rangers.

Of course, im just fooling. Still love Prust. Anyone would have signed that contract, especially knowing your girlfriend lives in that city. But tonight's about two points, not about that.
