Only thing left is Danault for Selke? To my defense, I also said that Pacioretty was going to score 30 and bought his jersey in 2009 and Ive argued with many people in 2011 that Subban was going to win a norris
I remember making a post on those old RDS forum when I was like 14 saying that AK46 would score 40 one day.
Oof.
I still hate Chara and think he did it on purpose. Obviously he didn't want to almost kill him, but still.
Im 28 and I feel like I was born before the steam engine.
you could put like every Habs prospect in that sentenceCan't believe I actually thought Aaron Palushaj was gonna be a good player for the Habs lmao
Speaking of which, I cant believe Matt D'Agostini once scored 21 goals. If you look at his stats, that season is an outliner (after his rookie year). Can't believe I actually thought Aaron Palushaj was gonna be a good player for the Habs lmao
I will always maintain that Chara did that on purpose. It's no coincidence what happened in the game before where MP gave him a little shove after the OT goal and Chara went bananas.
I don't think he knew how serious the injury would be or the fallout, but he wanted to exact some sort of revenge.
Will never get over how he didn't get anything for this.
Saw it live on TV. It was the first and only time that I seriously thought a player was dead. It was absolutely surreal to watch live.
Ugly hit yet I feel a little nostalgic of how intense the game was back in the day. There was true hate between teams.
Zednik almost getting beheaded was pretty bad to.This play was the scariest thing I've seen as a habs fan, since Trent McCleary blocked a shot with his throat.
Well said.............feel the same way.The hit was disgusting, the non suspension by the son's father was banana republic like, but the aftermath drama was just infuriating. From Dr Recchi to the infamous "I didn't know who was on the ice" comment just proved how rigged the player of safety department was that year.
One of the dirtiest hit I've seen and the biggest Gong show ever.
How true..........it still feels like we all saw this yesterday.....The rules changed shortly after the incident. In today's NHL Chara is suspended without question. There was no excuse for that awful play, but back then the DoPS still had the stink of partisanship and the downplaying of headshots.
Personally, that was one of the most upsetting scenes I've seen in hockey. I'm sure Pacioretty lying inert on the ice was one of the reasons the NHL finally realized they couldn't let players get away with garbage like that.
I joined this site partially because of that hit. Browsing through the gazillions of comments and seeing the crazed disconnect from some Bruins fans made my blood boil. "Good hit, unfortunate result" was an ironic reply from a fan base that lost Savard to another 'good hit' that wasn't punished. Even more irony: the "Call 9/11" comments from the same fan base that Tweeted lovely sentiments to Subban and Joel Ward. We've all mellowed, but good times...How true..........it still feels like we all saw this yesterday.....
To this day, now when I see a Bruin laying on the ice, I could care less, and I know this is not right, but..........
