McDavid easily , Bob has been good but he's not been a god or anything , he's not the only reason the panthers are winning lol

This kind've poll generally isn't a fair comparison because McDavid would be replacing a 4th liner and Bob would be replacing an average goalie generally.

Regardless, it's McDavid. Pretty sure the guy could put up 100 points in 20 games and he would still get blamed if the Oilers don't win the Cup.

17.3 GSAx in 12 games is pretty much god like. When Vasilevkiy won his Conn Smythe, he had a 12.8.

Yeah I don't get people denying how great his performance has been. Obviously he's not better than McDavid in general, but is a goaltending performance like this more likely to help carry a team on a deep run than the best offensive performances a single player like McDavid can provide? Well that answer is pretty obvious considering Edmonton has two such players and they can't get past lesser teams than Florida now and Montreal a few seasons ago.

Infact not only is great goaltending a pre-requisite to going on a deep run but it's also pretty much a given that you can't win a Stanley Cup without solid goaltending.

You would never bet on a single goalie over an elite player like McDavid at the start of a season though because even rookie goalies have put up performances like this whereas elite goalies aren't always that consistent from one season to another. Bobrovsky has obviously been crap for a while now but he's clearly recaptured his Vezina trophy winning form.

Obviously long term there is no question but if your talking about the playoffs this year Bob has been better.

Taking Bob.

The Habs set the standard that playing Toronto early and having a hot goalie was the pathway to a SCF appearance. Florida then submitted irrefutable proof.
