He currently ranks 65th all time in NHL points:

He'll pass some of those guys this season.

At 1200, he would crack the top 50 all time.

It's crazy to think there's only ever been 64 players in the history of the game who have scored more points than him.

Indeed

Especially considering the era that guys like bossy and Federko played in.

Like Bergeron and Barkov, Kopi are co. are silent assassins - they quietly go about their business, put points up on the board, play a 200 ft. game.

And it isn't till down the road that you realize how consistent they have been for so many years, playing the game the right way and flying under the radar all the while.

But unlike Barkov and Bergeron, Kopitar carried the Kings more often than not..
of that trio, Kopitar had by far the worse wingers

Kopi will be in the 50's before it's said and done. If he continues for a few more years at this pace he will most certainly be there. Wait he's only 30 behind Federko maybe he'll pass him up this year. (Okay maybe not but what an accomplishment from a small country of Slovenia!)

Listened to the oilers feed and their announcers said tons of good things about him and mentioned that even though he is top five active scorers he is not always mentioned with the others but really should be , Kane, Crosby, Malkin and of course ovi , still think if he was a ranger or hawk he would have legend status already, guess he will have to settle for being kings fan greatest ever forward , with all due respect to Dionne kopi led the way to TWO cups going to be hard to top that for most of us

The problem with a Kopitar is far too many people are convinced he’s just been consistent his whole career.
The reality is that most people don’t take into account supporting cast, team philosophy/system and coaching. Most just solely focus on stats and think that’s gives you everything. What it doesn’t factor in is style change for team benefit, individual sacrifice for team success and the very real East Coast bias.
Kopitar isn’t in a tier with Toews and Bergeron, he f***en better and always has been. Canadians might not agree but he absolutely was in his prime and even so now. You say Bergeron, well all he has to do is play his game because Boston knows how to surround with talent unlike the Kings. Toews was never in Kopi’s league but he was the good ol’ boy from up North.
Again, look at the centers from his generation and tell me that Kopitar didn’t make the most out of lesser players. He never had an equal or near par.
Crosby - Malkin.. and as a reminder malkin was the better player during their cup wins
Toews - Kane - even Hossa
Big crybaby - Marleau - even Pavelski
Ovie- feed beautifully by Backstrom
Getzlaf - Perry
And so on…

Kopitar - Dustin Brown.. great King but not on par with those above

I think it's really telling to outsiders that a franchise that's had Luc, Gretzky, Dionne, Nichols, and other legends of the game that Kopitar will be the most impactful franchise forward.

First ballad HOF. Haters are gonna hate due to his contract, but had the cap continued to go up as expected at the time it would be a non-issue. Get past his cap hit and appreciate what we have.

It's remarkable that even with the flat cap at age 35 he's still contributing at an impact level comparable to a $7-8M center. That is also acknowledging that advanced stats cannot quantify defensive impact that well yet, so his true impact could be even higher (as we've known for the majority of his career).

Ya don’t need advanced stats to enjoy watching Kopi absolutely molest Draisaitl below the dots in the D zone.

It’s a thing of beauty.
