MAPLE LEAFS (9-6-0) at PANTHERS (4-6-4)

TV: SNET-O, FS-F

Last 10: Toronto 7-3-0; Florida 3-3-4

Season series: This is the first of three games this season. The Panthers swept the four-game season series in 2011-12 and maintain a five-game winning streak at home against the Maple Leafs.

Big story: Toronto has the second-best road record in the Eastern Conference at 6-2-0, but will try to avoid a sixth straight loss on the Panthers' ice. Meanwhile, Florida tries to snap a four-game losing streak, including three consecutive defeats in overtime. Monday marks the final installment of the Panthers' four-game homestand, so they seek a much-needed win before a trip Thursday and Friday through Pennsylvania.

Rookie forward Jonathan Huberdeau has three goals over his last three games for Florida

Injury report: Besides Reimer, the other Maple Leafs dealing with injuries are forwards Matt Frattin (lower-body), Joffrey Lupul (broken arm) and Carl Gunnarsson (strained hip). ... Panthers forward Kris Versteeg missed his second consecutive game Saturday with an upper-body injury. Defensemen Ed Jovanovski (knee) and Michael Caruso (wrist) and forward Scottie Upshall (ankle) are on injured reserve. Forward Sean Bergenheim (undisclosed) has yet to play a game for the Panthers this season.

Leafs leafs leafs.

we'll see, we did very poorly against the panthers last season, but they definitely aren't that great of a team this year it seems.

Should be a win with Versteeg and Upshall out.

I'll be betting against Toronto on this one, Florida is paying juicy odds for a home team and the Leafs have always sucked when playing down there. The Leafs always look at these games as an excuse to soak up some rays in the middle of winter and enjoy the miami night life, it's not going to be any different this year. Might as well cash in on the phenomenon.

Toronto sucks against Florida...hope they can get a W though.

Tampa on the other hand should be a W because we match very well against their system and have traditionally beat them a lot.

I'll have the GDT up around 1 am est

I think we can take this game. As long as Scrivens continues his strong play, and the team keeps their defensive game up, we should be good.

as long as we play solid defensively and scrivens plays average we should win this. panthers are bad on defense and in net, they were consistently missing assignments in the TB game on saturday and only had a lead because TB was equally bad in their own zone.

hopefully we pull this one out as the TB game should be tougher.

In the end just have to find a way to win. The last couple games haven't been super confidence building (aside from Scrivens). Team needs to get fired up and outwork their opponents. We are down numerous players, but need to keep getting points to stay in a playoff spot. Hang in there until we get more guys back.

We need this win. It should be in the bag if they play the way they can.

In each of the 4 games against the Panthers last season, they scored 5 goals on us. We always had at least 2-3 goals for, but we just need the better goaltending and a W is possible.
