1) GM sets the roster.
2) Coach almost always plays any player available to him over Zaitsev, including Jacob Larsson, who barely played in the NHL last year, and Erik Brannstrom, who he HATES according to most.
= The GM is saving the coach from himself.

Not sure how the logic flows there, but OK.
