Clearly not. At the same time, it sucks for him that the 2 players drafted in front of him ended up being franchise cornerstones (Stamkos and Doughty), so his career may look worse than it really is. He still ended up being a serviceable defensive defenseman who can eat big PK minutes.

No, but he's had a very good career, especially considering the injuries he's had to fight through. Had he stayed healthy, pretty decent chance he's a top 10 player from his class.

I think this reflects more on the quality of the class (pretty bad) than on Bogo's accomplishment. Particularly the forwards. Stamkos, Atkinson, Eberle, Bailey, Stepan, Henrique, Nyquist, Matt Martin, Boedker, Colin Wilson, Tyler Ennis....Zac Rinaldo?

No but he’s turned into a good player, impressed me the most as a Rangers fan during our series

Yeah, it ended up being a very top-heavy class in general. A handful of elite players, a handful of all-star players, and then a lot of mid/bottom-lineup guys.

Um of course not

He's a big disappointment if looked at as a 3OV

He's a solid bottom pairing guy when healthy and at under 2M. Good and useful player but definitely not a even a top 10 pick level player let alone 3OA

It depends how you want to judge his injuries.

The biggest complaint over his career is he'd miss half the season and leave a hole in your defense corp.

It’s interesting that he’s found a home as #5-6 on TB- he was released by Buffalo. That’s.. that’s borderline outta the league. Worst team (at the time) had him on the market and no one called. We waived him because he sucks. And TB takes Buffalo’s trash and makes nontrash. Lame. Stop Erodding people.

It’s arguably the deepest draft for defensemen of this century

But as for the OP, no obviously Bogosian has not met expectations. He was drafted as a big body with good skating and a huge shot, but he’s never been anything more than a 2nd-pairing guy at his best, and more often a depth defenseman.

Injuries destroyed most of what could have been. Still a decent career considering what happened to Luke Schenn.

Maybe a disappointing individual career especially compared to doughty and pietrangelo, but its hard to call his career disappointing when he won two cups and was a valuable contributor on both teams.

? He has 1 cup, and he was a bottom pairing D during that run.

He's show up to camp already hurting and then not make it through an entire season year upon year. His preparation and ability to keep himself in the lineup was dubious for years. Seems like a good guy in terms of charity work, but as a 3OA? Disappointing is probably the best way to phrase it.
