Youth NHL Jersey Sizes?

hello guys, I've found some nice jerseys online and I want to buy them for my brother's birthday. He is 8 years old, 160 cm and 50 kg. and the jerseys are reebok NHL "youth" jerseys, sized "Large14/16-Xlarge18/20" according to the site.

It's gonna be shipped from the USA to Turkey, the shipping is very expensive and whatnot, so I want to make sure, can my brother wear these jerseys WITHOUT the hockey gear? just the jerseys. what do you think?
