I think Danault at 4 years, 5.5 or 6 mil frontloaded is a good deal for this team.
58.6 cf with 59.4 dZS.

I think running Larkin/Danault/Rasmussen/Glendening as our center group next year makes us a very good defensive team. Veleno can start out on the wing as he played well there in Malmo this year. Danault can also slot down to 3rd line C if/when one of our kids (Veleno, Rasmussen or Beniers if we miraculously draft him.) prove they can be a first or second line C.

Hamilton is on my wishlist for defense but I sincerely doubt that happens. Carolina is going to shed salary to keep the guy. I'd hold off on the big defense UFA until Werenski is available in 2022. Throw 7.5 at him for 6 or 7 years. There's your #2 guy next to Seider.

Bring Merrill back. He's affordable and a good soldier. I'd give him a 2 or 3 year deal for cost certainty.

I would absolutely love if Ryan, Erne and Glendening would stay on board and I'm also growing more and more fond of Gagner, so please resign these guys.

When it comes to new guys perhaps Erik Gustafsson would be worth a look, but mostly I think Derek Forbort would be a good addition on defense.

I also think Alexander Wennberg would be a good match here. I don't think Seider needs any day care or anything, but perhaps it would be a nice accomodation somewhat to add anoth er German in Dominik Kahun since he is also not very old and has enough abilities to go here in his own right and take over if for instance Darren Helm is not resigned.

I would be looking at relatively young guys like those I mentioned, not make a big splash.
