Strong lineup. Malkin, Kapanen, and Tanev out for the time being so Gaudreau, Lafferty, and Sceviour can fill in nicely.

Basically two 1st lines and two 3rd lines for the Pens..

There are also Sceviour, Lafferty, Gaudreau, Zohorna, Jankowski, Angello all very capable to play the 4th line, so basically 18 capable NHL forwards. Defense performing very well too and also being very deep with Friedman, Ruhwedel, Riikola and PO Joseph very capable of playing. Two good goalies too. No holes in Pens lineup and around 6 extra forwards and 4 extra dmen in case of injuries. That´s why they are still winning even with all of these injuries.

You think they’ll move Marchand to the 2nd line? I wouldn’t mess with that line

It really doesn't matter which one of the lines is called the first and which is the second. I figure both will have roughly equal ice time. And it'll be fluid depending on situation - if they need to preserve a lead, they'll tack Smith onto Krejci and Hall's right, if they need a goal, they'll doubleshift Pasta with the Bergeron line, etc.

Cassidy has been trying to distribute scoring more evenly by putting Pasta on Krejci's wing and Smith on the Marchand-Bergeron line lately, and it's pretty much expected that they'll keep that up and put Hall-Krejci-Pasta together.

Kap-Malkin- Carter would be a very bad first line...

Zacha (might be dinged up)-Hischier-Bratt
Sharangovich-Hughes-Kuokkanen
Wood-McLeod-Boqvist
Johnsson-Maltsev-(Merkley/Thompson/Bastian)

Siegenthaler?-Subban
Murray-Severson
Smith-Tennyson?
Butcher

Blackwood-Wedgewood-Dell

Siegenthaler maybe takes Kulikov's spot instead of Butcher drawing into the lineup. I'd guess they'd have Tennyson back as the stopgap 3RD to help kill some penalties as he did before Vatanen got cleared earlier this season.

Might see a cameo from Alexander Holtz in a few weeks and/or a couple more callups from the AHL.

For now it's something like:

Cousins-Haula-Pitlick
Trenin-Sissons-Jeannot

Josi-Benning
Ekholm-Ellis
Harpur-Gudbranson

... but that's with Forsberg, Duchene, Tolvanen, Fabbro, Carrier, Olivier, Borowiecki, Richardson, and Sbisa all on IR.

Rodrigues kinda sucks; I’d prefer him not be in the top 9.

Not much changed. This should be the lineup in the playoffs, assuming EJ gets healthy at some point:

Landy - Mack - Rants
Saad - Kadri - Bura
Nuke - Jost - Donskoi
O'Connor/Compher - Soderberg - Calvert
Bellemare

Toews - Makar
Byram - Girard
Graves - EJ
Nemeth

In SD right now transitioning to C, probably gets a call up later but who knows. It's also just been reported that Lindholm probably won't return from injury this season, so it'll probably something closer to

Comtois-Getzlaf-Rakell
Jones-Henrique-Terry
Heinen-Lundestrom-Silfverberg
Deslauriers-Grant-Volkov

Fowler-Manson
Fleury-Drysdale
Larsson-Shattenkirk

A part of me wouldn't mind seeing McCann-Malkin-Kapanen kept together, then try either Carter at center with Zucker and E-Rod, or use E-Rod as the defensive center and allow Carter and Zucker more offensive freedom on the wings.

If Caufield is called up and we have a fully healthy lineup:

Drouin - Suzuki - Anderson
Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Toffoli - Kotkaniemi - Caufield
Perry - Staal - Armia
Extra: Byron, Lehkonen, Evans

Chariot - Weber
Edmundson - Petry
Romanov - Merrill
Extra: Kulak, Gustafsson
