Your team Canada line-up

Cant wait for Sotchi and I tried to find a Hf board where they talk about it but couldnt find one, so maybe its not appropriate to have this thread on the Habs board but I think it would be funny to know what your ideal line-up looks like.. Heres mine:

Stamkos Crosby St-Louis (The perfect first line)

Giroux Tavares Duchene (MAD skills)

Lucic Toews E.Stall (A power line pretty tough to play against)

M.Richards Bergeron Couture (shut down line and top notch PKers)

Weber Doughty (shutdown)

Letang Subban (crazy speed and puck movement, first PP unit)

Keith Pietrangelo (could be a first pairing easily)

Price (Golden boy)

Not bad, think Giroux is goin to have to wake up if he wants to make this team ahead of guys like Getzlaf & Perry and Lucic with his brain cramps with international refs on the big ice isn't a good mix

Letang with Subban would be a disaster + I think Seabrook gets the nod over Kris having the history with Keith in a short tourney, it'll be Letang or PK not both

I'd be surprised if Bouwmeester is not on the team. He's a workhorse that can play in any situation and is a great skater. Also has international experience in the WC

I seriously doubt they'll put any defensive pairings with 2 righties or 2 lefties together, therefore you can forget pairings such as Weber & Doughty together or Subban & Doughty, etc...

At least that's what Team Canada management seemed to want last summer.

I'm sure we'll see at least 1 surprize on the back end as far as lefties go.

The righties should be Weber, Doughty & Subban with possibly Letang filling in as the #7 Dman.

For the lefties, besides Keith, there's no lock for the 2 other spots as far as I'm concerned.

Giordano or Vlasic could be one of those surprises to make the team. Both have very good starts to the season, but will need to continue to make the team.

Duchene better be there. He's tearing it up and his speed would be a huge boost for the team.

I also don't want to see average defensive defencemen like Staal or Vlasic go just because they are LD. Guys like Subban and Pietrangelo are talented and smart enough to play on their opposite sides.

I will jump off a bridge if they bring Thornton and Marleau again.

I have a feeling Yzerman is going to screw this up. Expect him to bring players that play together and stars to miss out

I want to see Sid, Tavares, Stamkos, Couture, Duchene, Thornton, Bergeron, Toews, Staal, Msl and Hall.
Those are lock. Last place is Giroux to lose and he's losing it.

As D I want to see Subban, pietrangelo, weber, Keith, doughty and vlasic.
The last one is up for grabs.

Price and Lu and another one who's hot and good.

Kunitz-Crosby-Perry ( Kunitz is amazing this year and the chemistry with Crosby is key)
Getzlaf-Stamkos-St.Louis ( soild line, Stammer-St-Louis chemistry)
Tavares-Toews-Thornton ( T LINE! 3 centers, kinda weird...but id rather have thornton on the wing than Lupul or Eberle...)
Nash-Bergeron-E.Staal ( big line for Bergeron )

Crosby, Toews, Tavares, St. Louis, Stamkos, Bergeron and Nash are all going if they're healthy. Nash is just too good in international tournaments, so even if he isn't having a great season he'll still go.

That's already 7 forwards.

The next 6 are going to be near impossible to pick. Duchene, Richards, Couture, Giroux, Perry, Getzlaf, Thornton, E. Staal, Hall and Lucic are all good picks. That's 10 forwards for 6 spots. Giroux is playing himself off the team, and Hall's time might not be now. Still, some tough choices there.

On D:

Keith - Doughty
Weber - Subban

should be the top 4 after that probably Bouwmeester, Pietrangelo, and Seabrook. You take the top D regardless of shot selection. It would be stupid to take a lesser D just because he shoots left. Subban can play his offside.

Price looks like he should be the starter for Team Canada at this point. I expect Luongo to be there regardless.

Because it will be on international ice, the team must be build around talent and speed first and foremost.

Stamkos - Crosby - St. Louis
Tavares - E. Staal - Giroux*
Duchene - Getzlaf - Perry
Nash - Toews - Bergeron**

Ex : Benn, Lucic

Doughty - Weber
Pietrangelo - Subban
Keith - Seabrook

Ex : Letang

Price
Luongo
Crawford

*Giroux has to wake-up because right now he doesn't belong there. Carter and Hall could be options too.
**Bergeron health status will be important to evaluate too. I'm not sure he's 100% recovered from his multiple playoff injuries last year.
