They will happen. Love 'em or hate 'em, we need to be able to win in the SO because of our defensively-minded roster. You'd also have to consider availability if choosing a bottom-6 player that can be sent down.

1. Suzuki
2. Kotkaniemi
3. Toffoli

(4) Anderson
(5) Byron / Perry (subject to availability)
(6) Petry

Byron has the highest percentage I think.

Then

Toffoli
Suzuki
Drouin
Tatar

Man, it would be nice to have Kovalchuk, sigh...

1. Byron
2. Drouin
3. Suzuki
4. Tatar
5. One of Kotkaniemi/Anderson/Toffoli

If Perry is in the lineup, he should be 3rd or 4th. His shootout% is 32.1% in 84 attempts.

Byron is actually 12th all time for shootout percentage. He's 50%, scoring 10 times on 20 attempts.

The player on the team with the next highest percentage is actually Jordan Weal, scoring 5 times on 13 attempts. So if he ever plays he would probably get a chance, which I'm sure everyone here will complain about.

Perry 33/100 (wow)
Drouin 7/21
Tatar 8/27
Gallagher 2/10

And for everyone saying Toffoli, well, he is 1/13 on his career.

Hopefully Suzuki or Kotkaniemi prove to be competent

No taxi for Byron I take it? I guess Byron-Evans-Lehkonen is a done deal for the 4th line, or does Frolik-Poehling-Perry still have a chance after today?

I'm thinking your 1st pick won't be in the lineup every single night.

I think the taxi squad will change on a regular basis. Those bottom line players will cycle in and out of the lineup.

I just went with the 5 highest S% on the team. Optimizing the odds.

1)Drouin - let him go first, don't put pressure on him to win it later in the shootout. Can attack with speed or dekeing
2)Byron - safety net of best percentage shooter go second, obviously is always using speed to try and score.
3)Suzuki - Highest IQ and deception if you want to change it up after Byron
OR
Anderson - If you want to use speed against the goalie again.
OR
Perry - If he's in the lineup period. (33/100 @Kobe Armstrong wow is right!)

After that, I'd choose from the remaining skill guys: Tatar, Gallagher, Kotkaniemi, Toffoli, maybe Armia? Also Petry if it came down to it, or Weber if you wanted to put it through the goalie haha

Trivia... Who's the shootout leader in goals scored for the Habs since the 05/06 season? He has 17 goals, 7 game deciding goals, and at least 10 shootout tries. 41.5% scoring %. You won't like the answer

1) Send Drouin first. He will crack under pressure if you send him 2nd or last. He's 5/13 in his career (35.5%). That's pretty good

2) Perry or Suzuki or KK or Armia or Tatar

3) Byron Last. 50% in his career on 18 tries

* Suzuki had only 1 attempt last year with no goal (involved in 5 shootout games). Need more sample size
* Anderson has only 1 attempt in his career with no goal (involved in 18 shootout games). Need more sample size
* Kotkaniemi has only 1 attempt with no goal (involved in 6 shootout games). Need more sample size
* Perry has 33 career shootout goals which ranks 15th since 05/06. One less goal vs Ovechkin and a slightly higher % at 33%. I believe he was 0/1 last year and involved in 4 shootout games.
* Armia 1/3 in his career
* Toffoli is 1/13 in his career
* Gallagher is 2/10 in his career
* Tatar is 8/27 in his career (1/3 with the Habs)
* Poehling is 1/1 and has been involved in 4 shootout games

4 guys with career percentages over 30% (more than 3 attempts). Byron, Drouin, Tatar, Perry. Perry ranks 15th in the NHL with his 33 goals in 100 tries (10th most shootout shoots since 05/06).

Frans Nielson has 49 goals on 105 attempts with 23 game deciding goals. He is neck and neck with Toews and Kane. Oshie is there with them too.
