Trade Mac, Grabo, Liles, Komi for picks and prospects.

Just wanna ship out Grabo. I don't want to see us paying 5.5mil for a third line checker.

unless Nonis does something crazy like an ROR deal, I think he will try to unload some of the extras for picks.

I think Connolly will net a 4th at the deadline
Mac should et maybe a2 and a 4th.

They may keep Steckel for the 13th forward, but if not maybe a 4th back?

Baring a block buster trade the question on are minds should be who's worth more in trade for this team moving forward.

Bozak is a popular and unwarranted candidate same with Grabo unless there's a block buster neither are going anywhere they play important roles and important minutes for this team to have the record it currently has.

The candidates other than the obvious Komisarek are:

- Liles
- Mac
- Gunnarson

These are the 3 players that I anticipate getting traded no less 2 of the 3 at the deadline and all 3 wont be around next year.

What will the team be looking for? Again baring a block buster Nonis will be looking to recoup the players who have graduated from the Marlies and have earned being full time Leafs so prospects and or picks will be at mind.

I think the Leafs will get an offer they can't refuse for Gunnarson at some point and truly believe he'll be the 1st from the D-core traded. Liles will be a draft day trade and Mac will be traded for the best possible pick they could get.

1. Why would you trade Grabo? I mean yes he is woefully inconsistent offensively this year BUT he's been a beast defenisevly and is surprisingly our best defensive centre. Now is NOT the time to move him, give Kadri time to grow/develop and if by next season he is outproducing him THEN is the time to trade Grabo.

2. Gardiner is a future stud, only way we trade him or should trade him is IF Rielly can outdo him.

3. Mac's as good as toast once Frattin comes back, there is just no role for him on this team anymore.

4. Liles can go once Gardiner is 100% healthy.

You do not do that kind of shifting and meddling to a roster that is playing well and heading into the POs.

Think along the lines of "do no harm".

When Lups returns you will see him on the LW with Kadri and Frat.

Thus keeping the KKG line together and the BJK.

Mac will see the presser and fill some 4th line.

Steckle is a goner. Brown,Orr and the 2 Mc s will rotate out the 4th line wings.

Gunnarson: due for a significant raise and are future is stacked at left D with Phaneuf, Gardiner, Rielly and possibly Ranger (who could step right in and easily fill the void left by Gunnar)

Bozak : pending UFA that would bring back a good return

Not a chance in hell, not even outside shots.

Come TD, IF we are sitting in a PO position don't think for one second that this GM is going to strip any pieces off this roster that he does not HAVE to.

Losing a player to UFA will not qualify as has to.

Risking the loss of a player to waivers, ya ok, maybe a deal is swung then.
Depends what they think the chances of being claimed are.

DN already stated he would entertain filling holes come TD if this was a PO team, don't believe he will create any.

Mac will be kept as forward depth for the POs. Great insurance. He has played all over the map now and has useful PO versatility.

They will try to slide Steckle past waivers or trade him.
