We approached this new season
with much trepidation to be sure
not knowing what to expect
after what was previously endured

Though we knew that our youngsters
had the talent to score
the defense had been somewhat suspect
and just employed goalies galore

Once the season began
optimism returned
that is until the first 7 periods
and we'd felt we'd once again been burned.

Boos rained down
"Fire Lindy" was called
a mere 2+ games in,
and the crowd was appalled.

Old Wood had relayed
he was sick of the losing.
But before you knew it,
our boys started cruising.

Young Jack shot the lights out,
Bratter dished apples left and right.
Vitek stabilized the net,
and our Swiss King showed off his might.

But then December came,
and it was a long one, no doubt.
"We'll be lucky to battle for a wild card spot!"
those doubters began to shout.

Then an old vet named Sevy
stuck a dagger in the Rags' hearts.
And a period of dominance
once again began to start.

The boys would win 20 of their next 27,
and it looked like playoffs were on our mind.
Plus in the midst of it all,
the bells rang out for "Timo Time".

Yet our own Ides of March loomed on the schedule,
with practice time and days off sparse.
Hitting our first skid in months,
the fans grew weary and questioned if this was a farce.

But we mustn't forget where we've come from
and what we've recently watched.
The boys have given us lots to cheer for
despite this week seemingly botched.

The postseason is nearing
and for that we mustn't lose sight.
For the Rock will need all our support
to strengthen the black and red's might.

So remember that skids do happen
but it doesn't mean all hope is lost.
Our speed will come back, the goals will come
and our opposition we will exhaust.

The only good thing about this game is it's on a weekend, therefore I don't have to catch a ride on the back of a tiny ass Harley dyna glide and get my junk sat on and smashed, just so I can drive my buddy's truck home cause he was already in Tampa at work and drinks at these games like prohibition is coming back at midnight.

It's a little chilly here today to be on a bike. It would have felt nice yesterday though.

I think this thread hits a lot of notes that are important to remember with what this team has done and what is currently taking place.

Not to dwell upon last nights game and discussion, but I do have a problem with people making claims that we look like a first round exit in the way we’ve played this week. Amidst a stretch where we have played a game no later than every other day for close to 3 weeks.

The Colorado Avalanche who stormed through the West en route to a Stanley Cup just last year finished the regular season on a 1-5-1 stretch. Skids happen over an 82 game season. This schedule is brutal at this time of year, especially this week where we play a squad who has seen and done it all 3 times and a team in Florida who is desperate for points to stay in the race.

I don’t know what to expect tonight, but I’m personally not going to proclaim anything off of it. I believe we are as good as we’ve shown we can be this season. I hope for a great response. I feel strongly about what we can do. I do think getting two days off before next game will be beneficial.

I really just want to see individual players getting back on track. Wins and losses are not exactly critically important right now. I’d like to hold off the Rangers but it doesn’t matter a whole lot. I just want Jack and Bratt back to playing like they can. Vitek too.

Wouldn't even bother watching this one folks.

Watch some MLB spring training on DVR, hoops, NASCAR or something else.

It isn't worth tuning into what will definitely be 0-3-0 against TBL in under a week. They aren't quite as strong of a team as FLA, so I say odds are slightly higher in our favor than last night's game, against a much hungrier, faster and younger FLA team.

And Vasi hasn't been as good the last couple of months as Bob has. I'm not even sure if Vasi is actually the better netminder than Bob, but I know no one is willing to admit such a thing.

And you know right after the NJD plane touched down in Tampa, coach Brunette took the boys out for some drinking, carousing and lap dances at the same strip club he so irresponsibly took his players to last year, which ultimately got him fired.

I wasn't too far off from my 7-1 FLA prediction last night, FLA just didn't show up in the first 2, but outscored the NJD 4-0 in the 3rd period. Could have been 12-2 if they even bothered in the first 2 periods.

6-3 TBL. We'll score 3 on Vasi since he isn't as good as Bob and I expect TBL is also tired from playing last night. Then again, they played a terrible MTL team that the NJD struggled to beat just last weekend and who FLA put up 9 on the game before. So my guess is TBL hardly broke a sweat.

Make that 8-3 TBL.
