That's interesting picking a specific season for a player. The difference of picking a team based on peak only as opposed to a career as a whole could be pretty big.

My would be:

Ovechkin - Malkin - Kovalchuk
Bure - Fedorov - Mogilny
Kucherov - Datsyuk - Kovalev
Tarasenko - Yashin - Panarin
Zhamnov

Zubov - Konstantinov
Gonchar - Yushkevich
A. Markov - Fetisov
Malakhov

Bobrovsky
Nabokov
Khabibullin

Ov Steamrolls Jagr!
On international ice, these guys are my pick for gold:

Ovechkin - Fedorov(C) - Mogilny
Bure - Malkin(A) - Kucherov
Panarin - Datsyuk - Kovalchuk
Kamensky - Yashin - Kovalev
Zhamnov

Malakhov - Zubov(A)
Gonchar - Konstantinov
Markov - B. Mironov
Zhitnik

Bobrovsky
Khabibulin
Bryzgalov

Likely the best skating team. I've got all players are on their strong side, and Malkin/Ovechkin who have no chemistry together on different lines.

Let's try this... Jagr was 18 in 1990... so this gives me a hell of a roster!

Forwards (12): Jagr, Elias, Nedved, Hejduk, Straka, Lang, Voracek, Pastrnak, Krejci, Reichel, Plekanec, Hemsky

D: Hamrilik, Zidlicky, Kaberla, Spacek, Hronek and Slegr

G: Hasek, Turek, Chechmanek

Please know this was a depressing exercise as most our best players are from the 90's.

That’s not as bad as cutting Pastrnak!
Lol.. Anti went old school.... I don't mind at all. It does make me sad to see that we used to have very solid D. I actually debated Frantisek Kaberle (in his peak years) as he was tremendous.. .I think he was on all 3 gold medal teams at the World's in a row and won a cup.

Oops he won it 5X and a Bronze at a best on best Olympics too....

František Kaberle - Wikipedia

I also loved Filip Kuba and Karel Rachunek.
