Rookie living in the wizen old vet's basement.

Edit: Really a tradition, but whatever :)

Not a traditional ritual, but Corey Perry believes the sticks he has weigh different...it was in an interview some years ago where Getzlaf made fun of him for it.

Patrick Roy had one that I actually picked up: Put your goalie gear on from right to left.

Worked for him.

Underrated is the goalie goalpost touching routine.

It's funny to me in the sense that it keeps happening on a consistent basis.

You know this always happens when Peter Holland scored the shootout winner against Toronto on December 15, 2016 after they traded him on December 9, 2016.

Don't step on the logo is stupid. Then, like, don't put it on the floor?

Not touching the Wales/Campbell is also bollocks.

But there are good ones. Playoff avatars, playoff beards, anything playoffs.

I also believe that you can't beat a good lucky shirt. Sure, sometimes you go on a run and you smell, but it's worth it.

And then there's #NoPantsOvertime

When it comes to that I think it's dumb for this reason. If the captains of the teams who win the Western Conference and Eastern Conference don't touch either trophy the fact is one team will still end up winning and losing in the Stanley Cup Final. Using that logic why do the players wear the Conference Champions hats? Wouldn't they only want to wear the hats which say Stanley Cup Champions?

Gretzky always missed the net in his first shot in warmups. It was always to the extreme right of the net

Playoff beards no contest.

On an individual basis, stick prep rituals are fun. Weird stuff players write on their tape, that kind of thing.
