Assuming no more moves before the season:
Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Marleau-Tavares(!)-Marner
Hyman-Kadri-Kapanen
Brown-Lindholm/Ennis-Grundstrom
Leivo/Jooris
Gardiner-Rielly
Dermott-Zaitsev
Borgman-Hainsey
Holl/Carrick/Liljegren/Rosen
Fred
McBackup/Sparks
I like Andreas Johnsson to take Hyman's spot on the Papi line. he's a good 2-way player who can support the other two but has much more skill than Hyman does, which is what those two need.
I think Grundstrom has a legit shot to make the team. He can score and has some jam too. I also don't think the 4th line is going to get a lot of time for the forseeable future, so we could see more of a revolving cast here as kids audition etc.
Dermott should start on pair 2 this year, he can handle another 2 or 3 minutes at least.
Since the word dream was used, Zaitsev returns to form after his injury riddled second season and is a capable #4. not the scared squirrel-being on hockey skates we saw this past season.
Hainsey brings some much needed stability to the 3rd pairing and is in a more appropriate role for this stage of his career. Borgman has size, and can skate shoot and handle the puck. like Dermott he is also willing to throw the body. I'd like to see him make it, but it's a mishmash at that end of lineup same as at forward.
Not too much to say about the goaltending. Freddy has to stay healthy, and he needs to happen to be on a peak rather than a valley going into the playoffs, or we're in big trouble no matter how good the rest of the team is. Hopefully he gets more rest this season with an even stronger lineup in front of him.
