I believe the Oilers will make the playoffs.

It don't get any bolder than that imo.

Not I think they "could" make the playoffs but they will make the playoffs. Don't care if so and so does well or whatever as long as the team goes to the promised land.

Yak secretly trained with Ryan Smyth this summer and gets 20 goals from Connor banking them off his @$$

Is that true? If so it's a big tell imo. Smyth is still really close to the organization so it looks to be our version of Oates. Says he's still in our plans

Just FYI, Oilers have always been my 2nd favorite team next to the Flyers, huge Oilers fan.

Yakupov surprises, stays healthy and finishes 4th on the team in points behind McDavid, Eberle, Draisaitl.

Eberle doesn't make the team.

lol losing credibility with each and every post like this.

As for my bold predictions

Pulji makes the team over Yak and Yak goes on waivers

Larsson turns into our Hedman.

Eberle scores 35

Oilers miss out on the playoffs by 5 points.

McDavid gets 97 points on the year to lead the NHL.

Oilers make the playoffs as the #4 seed

Lucic scores 37 goals

Yakupov scores 30 goals

If Lucic scores 30 it will be an overwhelming success. I don't think his impact will be as much on the scoresheet as the "intangibles" of showing the team how to win.

As for Yak scoring 30... I would love that but... Don't see it.

That's why it's a BOLD prediction...

Don't let Mct's use of the word Bold fool you, it's not a mediocre prediction

-Nuge finally breaks out and puts up a 70 point season.
-Yak scores 20+ goals playing on a line with McDavid for most of the season.
-Fayne surprises everyone with a very solid season becoming one of the Oilers more dependable Dmen

except Oates was a extremely skilled player teaching skills in retirement.......smyth can only teach someone to tip shots and grind out and cry once in a while

You think? I think its a distinct possibility.

Given our RW depth, I think there's room on the roster for PJ and Yak. I also think that if Chia was unwilling to trade Yak for pennies on the dollar in the offseason, they won't let him go for nothing now.
