Getting down two goals in the first period (or worse, by the half way mark of the first period) is a recipe for losing games. Senators have made too many weak defensive plays or defensive errors early in the game and they put themselves in a hole. They look like they are not ready or engaged in the game at the start of the game too frequently. The losses will continue to pile up if this trend continues.
