Petey might as well be injured and not playing. He is just on the ice for morality.
He's playing phenomenally defensively.

Stop analyzing only half his game. He actually had a good game tonight. His linemates just couldn't do anything with the puck and when he was open off puck they somehow couldn't see him wide open. His linemates were super ass tonight.

Silovs movement in net when getting scored on or even when he makes saves is still kinda concerning. I still think he’s running on a lot of luck and might implode soon with this pressure heavy workload. Having said that, his job is to hold the fort for Demko and he’s doing that making big timely saves when his team needs him to. He deserves praise because he’s doing his job that he was called upon to.

Oilers are losing because their D zone makes god awful decisions and Skinner looks like an AHL rookie goalie. He’s never been capable of bailing out his team when they need him, which may sound unfair but is also part of a goalies job. I don’t count that weak Kings forecheck shutout as bailing them out. Even without the defence being terrible, he’ll let in bad angle goals like his net awareness behind him is off. The team in front of him has its faults, but they also shouldn’t be expected to play New Jerseys dead puck era hockey to hide Skinners faults.

I’m genuinely shocked by how good Silovs has been! I never saw that coming.
But I’m not surprised at all by Skinner. This is the same way he played in last years playoffs.
Holland not upgrading the goaltending this off season will sink the Oilers either this series or the next.

Cool. The difference is that I realize my team isn't winning a cup this season with our trash goaltending. Of course, you don't know shit about winning do you?

You've been spending too much time with Kevin Lowe again, your winning is showing.

Maybe next year the Oilers GM might consider addressing the glaring weaknesses on defence and in net. It's like deja vu with this team.

Getting goalied by an AHL call-up is the icing on the dry, crumbly cake that was this game.
Nurse is supposed to be their blueline superstar. Don't laugh legit he is given his contract.

Both fan bases know this

One characteristic I usually see in a cup winner is that they know how to lock games down with the lead.

Edmonton and vancouver are definitely not showing these characteristics. I haven't looked at the other series too much but it also looked like things got rocky for dallas too although they did hang on a couple games ago.

I probably wouldn't have canucks as favourites if they advanced.... heck I don't even have them as favourites against Edmonton, although a healthy demko, and pettersson playing like he can would make things interesting. I would have picked van against Edmonton if not for the demko news.

Canucks were never even considered a playoff contender. Everyone here laughed at us and told us we would miss the playoffs. Not only the Canucks win the division but they are going far in playoffs.
Can we stop? We're up 1 game in round 2 here.

We aren't dominating the Oilers. We're doing enough to get by which is great considering we have a third string goaltender in net, but the Canucks aren't bringing their A game. We've seen their B game at best this playoffs. Need a lot more if the team is gonna "go far".

True but Canucks have injuries. Demko out, Petersson not himself and possibly Hughes injured too. You think its easy to play your A game when half of our stars are injured? Take out McDavid and Oilers wouldnt look so good.

Oilers again outplayed the opponent by a pretty wide margin
Didn't generate a win
Lost the goaltending battle
And looked stale on the PP
