They scored first then went to sleep for half a period.
I genuinely hate it when the Oilers score first. It’s like they take that as a sign that the universe is unfolding as it should so they no longer need to work their asses off. I feel much more comfortable when their opponent scores first. This first period has been a clown show, though.

Every goalie. Team could lose 1-0 and the goal be a crazy deflection and all the blame would be on the goalie by some here.

Hopefully they put in Pickard and he stands on his head and then start him the rest of the way. He can be our Roloson
Skinner is a fine regular season goalie. His play drops in the postseason. It’s not really even his fault. He wasn’t supposed to be THE guy. Unfortunate for all of us our pro scouting team decided a guy who sucks for 95 percent of his career just magically wasn’t going to suck for 5 years.

Yet Desharnais every game is making the worst passes of any D. A good pass by Vinny is one that gets out and sails down the ice for icing. About the best you can hope for from him. Vinny and Skinner don't belong on a contender club. Turn it into pretenders. Just awful players.
Half our team doesn't belong.

Ryan is old and his claim to fame is faceoffs?
Brown is a black hole of suck
Nurse is brain dead at the best of times
Ceci is Desharnais but smaller
Foegele is absolutely garbage with the puck and can basically only forecheck.
Perry is old and slow
McLeod and fast and does...nothing.

Like the majority of the team is just there. We have at least 7 players who's best attributes are existing, and who's worst attributes actively lose us games.

Mcdrai isn't going to save us this series. They need to be split up.

What series are you watching bud? You realize when Drai was set up in almost the exact same spot this series he buried 2 of those also but when Drai does you jump for German joy

Simple logic....stop allowing Boeser to shoot from there, and let pluggers like Desharnais, Blueger the same shots, you likely get a save
Obviously we shouldn't be leaving Boeser alone in the slot. I get it. But other teams actually get a great save once in awhile. You know, like even Silovs is making. We're the Oilers bad in that period? Sure.

Did Skinner make any big stops? No.

Oil had two posts this period. Have to tilt the ice to pressure their suspect goaltending. Oil have to asset their game of high offensive zone time and push more shots on net. Lots of time. But less than zero room for mistakes. Have to be hard on Canuck forwards and get their asses out to block shots and be physically hard in the home plate own zone.

Skinner is a fine regular season backup goalie. That's his ceiling.
