I can't see Chevy trading Stanley...just yet. I think they're going to wait to see if he develops a mean streak. Give him another year at least.

I thought Copp was out with his 5th concussion? I heard on a Winnipeg based Podcast suggestions his career is in doubt.

I hope I'm wrong but he seems like a less than ideal trade candidate right now if you want any value.

Why this may not be right for NYR

NYR not moving Lundkvist without some upside youth coming back in the return, really don't see him moved for a rental.

LD is not where NYR need to fill pipeline(they have Miller, Lindgren, Jones, Robertson, Reunanen, Hajek all ~Stanley age or younger)

It’s something I’d consider as a Ranger fan. I just have doubts as to whether or not the FO would move Lundkvist for Copp and I like Copp’s game a lot. I just worry about the concussions.

No way NYR move Lundkvist for a rental.

He is basically NHL ready and with Schneider playing very well, this is the only thing keeping him out of the lineup.

Is Copp coming with an extension? Did Stanley learn how to play hockey all of a sudden?

Brutal trade for the Rangers.

If we acquired Copp I wouldn’t consider him a rental. I’d resign him to replace Strome and change the look of that line, at least as a more affordable stop gap until a better center solution presents itself. Don’t need Stanley, but I don’t mind the basis of the trade. I want Copp in NY. He’s buddies with Trouba as well so probably an easy re-sign.

We don't know!
Two games left until the deadline and we're heating up when the teams in front of us are cooling down. If we're within 1 point of 8th, I don't see us selling. We're definitely not buyers, though.
I'm totally okay if Copp and Stastny are willing to sign new deals with us this summer.
If anyone wants Beaulieu for their cup run, we'll gladly sell him in any circumstance.

We'd need a reliable replacement to slot in when Copp inevitably misses a chunk of games. His growing list of concussions is incredibly concerning and it would be very poor planning for a team to replace the very healthy Strome with the shaky health Copp without a contingency plan in place. And no, I don't see Chytil as that option. Maybe Goodrow could fill in a pinch but then the 3rd line+ needs more help overall.

By making a very top heavy team, as we have, when you decide to spend money to sure up your depth you better make sure it is on healthy reliable players.
