Would Gostisbehere make a better forward?

Given his scoring ability and speed and shot I'm curious if he would be better suited to play forward?

Philly sucks at scoring.

His defensive game would be less of a liability and I think we have enough quality defensive prospects to experiment about changing his role. If not next year ....the year after. That's assuming he eventually becomes comfortable with it. Has he ever played forward?

Thoughts?

No thanks. He will make for a great specialist on the backend once we have more depth there.

I can see him potting 15 - 25 goals as a forward. Concerned he may become a #4 defenseman and his speed and shot will be under utilized in 3 years.

He clearly does not enjoy the defensive aspects of the game as much as he does letting loose offensively.

Agree he's needed now to move the puck but that's only because our defense is..... challenged. This is going to change in two years.... and goal scoring and scoring depth will always be a premium we need.

He will likely be a #4 dman here behind Provorov, Sanheim, and Myers ..and there aint nothing wrong with that..it means the others hit their ceilings and we are a contender!

It is so important to have people to move the puck from the back end OUT of the zone in order to have a good team. Why is this so hard to understand?!

I mean probably in the same way that Buff or Burns would be, but the value is on the back end.

Undersized middle-6 winger with good puck handling skills who does not check and sucks doing corner work. No thanks!
