Still can't believe Erne didn't make it.

This is a little less exciting than last year's WJC because we don't have guys in prominent roles (Drouin, Vasi). Hopefully one of our guys can break out.

Canada has it's last pre-tourney game tonight.

I honestly thought he was almost guaranteed a spot.

On the bright side, we get to have a look at our top 2 draft picks from the 14 Draft.

Isn't DeAngelo on the 1st PP? Should get plenty of chances to put up points. Not sure where he'll play in the defensive pairings but expect him to be the highest point getter of all USA defenseman.

Canada just exploded. If you went to the bathroom at the wrong time, you missed 3 goals.

I think this'll be my first live game look at Tony D. Would have loved to see Adam The Dbag Erne too. Stupid Hockey USA...7

I love this tournament. Tends to be the thing that gets me interested in the next year's draft.

Oh, and DeA is wearing #24 if anyone's wondering

I think D just got a secondary assist.

I think so too. Great finish by Tuch on that play. I know a few of us were hoping to get him on draft day.

D's looking really good, IMO. Poised, solid plays, phenomenal skater.

What a pass by Eichel lol

That Matthews kid from USA has a lot of poise.

Bob McKenzie said Matthews might be a better prospect than Eichel, closer to McDavid. Not draft eligible till next year. Agreed though. He looks similar to how Eichel looked last year. He controls the play.

ADD: Period over. I thought D looked great. He was projected to be third pairing but I think they're using him a lot more than that. Seemed to be on the ice a lot. He looks like he's been playing this tournament all his life.

I didn't know about him, but I'm a fan. He's been very dangerous.

Puljujarvi is another great prospect for the 2016 draft, he's got an amazing physical presence and if he keeps developing his already good skills... :amazed:

D looked really good that period. Most projected lines I saw had him as the 6th defenseman but it looked like he got a lot of ice time. Played on the PK and PP.

I love how genuinely happy McKenzie looks at these things.

Alex Tuch looks like something that crawled out of a cave with a club. Absolute monster.

D looks pretty clearly to be the most offensively gifted Dman on the ice. All good signs so far. (edit: spoke too soon)

So D is DeAngelo's nickname now? It's very confusing because I'm not sure if you're talking about him or the entire D.

Good defensive play by Deangelo without his stick. Didn't get flustered and just forced the Finnish player into a tougher chance.

Edit: Type of play I like seeing from a kid.

Was looking into the USA forwards and only two of them play in the CHL. Milano and De Leo with Erne outproducing both of them. Even the college forwards aren't killing it besides Eichel. Erne can play all three forward positions and be affective on any line. Sure he sucked last year but that was on big ice, on NA rinks his game would be more useful, still surprised by the snub. Not sure who the coach is and what his back round is but I guess it has college roots.
