For someone that is supposed to be an assist machine, he sure hogged the puck and made some boneheaded decisions.

All sizzle no steak,
all icing, no cake.

Kid does a lot but accomplishes nothing.

Who cares about Barzal? Not really that impressed with him tbh. Chabot was the big miss, how good would it look to have him in the pipeline right about now (sigh).

Anyway, epic game somewhat tainted by a skills competition decider. I will never understand why a tournament with a bunch of kids who can skate for days can't have a multi-OT format in the Gold Medal game.

Yup, or even Colin White.

A guy who looked like a future NHL player: Tage Thompson.

Big RH C/W who protects the puck, plays with an edge, makes smart decisions, and has some skill. Nice pick by the Blues last summer. May take another few years, but I see a solid pro career in his future.

To add to Jones' potential, history shows that the top 2-4 best D on a given USA Hockey U20 team go on to be solid NHLers. Jones was certainly up there with their top D this go around. I also like that he's not flashy, but still puts up points in the WHL. I think he's projecting well as a player along the lines of Benning and Nurse. Solid if unspectacular.
