WJC schedule/timeline

Has it ever been explained why they don't start this tournament a little earlier or condense it so it ends on New Years Day? I don't think I've ever watched a semi or final game since they're always on during working hours. So many people have time off over the holidays, it seems to me the organizers could really cash in on ratings if they just tweaked things a little.

It's fine the way it is. No way do they remove games; that just doesn't make sense financially.

The Semis and Finals are on a Saturday and Sunday....and I am sick tomorrow. Works for me.

I've been wondering why they have started two games at a time. Hasn't it been an hour and a half between previous years? I.e. 3pm, 4.30pm, 6pm etc?

Think that is just the playoff games, like this year.

All the starting times were staggered in the Canadian edition of the WJC.

Even a half hour stagger would be fine. When 1 intermission is happening the other game is playing. There's overlap where both are going on but never both in the intermission at the same time until you get between games.
