Peter Loubardias wonders out loud if Ryan Murray isn't one of Canada's most valuable defensemen.

I might take it one step further. I would be surprised if he didn’t start the tournament as part of the shutdown pairing. Murray can play it any way you want. He skates so well, makes terrific decisions with the puck, has excellent hockey sense. Murray will undoubtedly be a very high draft pick at the upcoming NHL Entry Draft, so enjoy his coming out party. As long as his health doesn’t suffer a setback, the World Juniors promise to be a great one for Murray.

Grigorenko was hurt last night. Not broken, but could jeopardize his tournament.

A 14-0 win over Latvia may seem like a big victory for Russia, but it could come with an even greater loss – Mikhail Grigorenko.

The status of the 17-year-old Grigorenko is in doubt after a second period collision with Latvian defenseman Arturs Salija.

How have the Swedes Forsberg and Collberg looked so far?

Both have looked very good so far but they have not yet faced tough competition (except for the swiss maybe). Collberg is 4+3 and leads the team in points I think. Forsberg has been one of the better players as well and could easily have scored a lot more points than he has so far. Then again, we will see how good they are against the top teams.
