Voted Jimmy Lodge again. He's one of the guys I'm excited to see with the Moose this season.

He's got some slick passing in his repertoire that I'm looking forward to at the pro level.

Getting really tough here. I like Lipon, Poolman and Kraskovsky and actually really liked what I saw from Niku and Karlstrom at Prospects camp. Wish I knew more about them.
But, I'm going with Lipon here because he's shown me the most so far. He could be a staple on our 4th line for years to come and maybe 3rd if all goes well.

I am also looking forward to seeing him with the Moose. He has a nice tool kit and his coaches we're raving about his two way game and work ethic last year. I'd love to see a strong year out of him, along side the skill players.

All that said, I voted Niku.

How, when we are voting for the number 18 prospect, am I counting a half-dozen remaining with possible NHL upside?

I must be wearing my homer glasses.

Voted late-Blomerqvist.

Looking back...more than a half-dozen with that upside...

I have (in alphabetical order) Blomqvist, Glover, Kichton, Kraskovsky, Lipon, Lodge, and Niku as guys I'm still very interested in.

I gotta go with Kraskovsky here, because he had a strong showing in the last poll and he's always been a "pet" prospect for me.

Pretty much my list too. Maybe Appleton as well. Pick any one at this point. Went Kraskovsky as the great unknown.

Me too... Maybe add Poolman to my list (and maaaaaybe Nogier), but he and Blomqvist are the long shots of the long shots to me.

Nelson Nogier... I've been impressed by this guy. I think he has a legit shot to be a 3,4 d man.

What exactly about Nogier's game makes you think he can be a second pairing defenseman in the NHL?

I'll admit that I haven't seen much of him, but what I have seen hasn't really impressed me. Seems like a very meh prospect, and right now I see his ceiling as an AHL defenseman. Would love to be wrong, but just not seeing anything impressive about him.

I like Nogier as well.

I do not think he should make the top 20 ( or even top 23) of our prospect list at this time. I do however got a good feeling about him, more so since he got traded from Saskatoon to R.D.

I am hoping for a big year from him in R.D. and he earns himself a ELC. After 2-3 years with Manitoba and a slow development ........ Bieska high end result......AHL depth D-man low end result. ( 5 % high end - 25% some where in the middle and 70 % low end result).......

Problem is, I don't see AHL depth dman as his low end result. IMO, his low end result is a guy who doesn't get a pro contract and plays university hockey.

Again, I really hope I'm wrong.

I agree that him not earning ELC is a high probable outcome. As I stated in my comment you quoted....."I hope he has a good season in R.D. and earns a ELC".... my %'s listed afterwards were based on this happening.

-helped Minnesota State win the WCHA title in 2014-15

Jamie Phillips:

-Hobey Baker finalist (NCAA player of the year)
-WCHA First all-star team (Goalie) 2014-15

J.C. Lipon:

-one of the top forwards for the AHL Ice Caps in the past two seasons
-22 years old

At this point I really have no idea who to vote for. I went with Niku because he's defense and we might end up being short on defense prospects, but really I have no idea.

Here's an example of how age and moving to the next level is imperative in evaluating prospects.

Looking at all NCAA players, those who played at x age, y% played 1+ NHL game, and z% played 200+ games:
17, 62%, 17%
18, 32%, 12%
19, 18%, 6%
20, 12%, 2%

Gives you an idea on how the later and older someone stays in the NCAA, the less likely they are good enough to be a NHL player...

Sorry Tanner Lane.
