Can any old Jets fans elaborate on the 1984 season and if it would have made any difference vs the Oilers if Hawerchuk hadn't gotten hurt in the previous series vs Calgary? Did the Jets even stand a chance with Hawerchuk healthy? I mean they did manage a 3-5 record.

The difference in the series was goaltending.

Hawerchuk would have helped, but, the Oilers were a really deep team with better goaltending.

That was the issue with the Jets in the 80's and the 90's, such inconsistent goaltending.
Forward group, great. Defense group, great. Goaltending was such good or bad, depending on the year.
