The casket is for Deboer not the team. Win or lose I hope it was just a case of waiting until after the final game of the road trip to finally do the deed.

81/9/71 looked good. It wasn't until after the last game and I came here that I realized what I thought was the third line with Carrier and Roy was actually the second line. Yet the team scored 4 goals.

Is Cotter actually in the line up? I liked what I saw from him last time around. This team needs a player like him in the line up over a Rjondberg or Leschsysnsnsn.

If we lose this I wonder if we should be sellers. Frankly, with the team as currently being iced, yes, the coach and the style are awful, but frankly, we just don't have the horses. Color me unimpressed with Koleslaw, Leschysyn, Patrick, etc. And we have players on the second and third line who are really bottom 6'ers being forced to play in the top 6. Combine that with mediocre goaltending and we're going nowhere fast.

Indeed. Need to fire the coaching staff not just because it sucks but also because it gives a boost to the players and a new system would be dope for fans and players.

Lehner's fault that Brossoit can't make a save right?

I vividly remember some on here calling for Brossoit to be the starter.

Very rational thought, but would Foley agree? Would McPhee agree? Would PDB agree? These guys with jobs that could be lost aren't going to follow that path unless Foley tells them to. And my expectation is Foley is believing everyone is going to be healthy by the end of April and he wants a shot at it, no matter how unrealistic it may seem.

On the current trajectory we'll be well out of it long before that. Even if guys got healthy, we have no goaltending. We can trade Smith, he'd totally change the Rangers and we can resign him in the off-season. Get what you can for Dadanov, Patrick, Brossoit. I'd probably hold onto Karlsson only because he wouldn't fetch much right now and his contract is reasonable.

Varly is a non starter at 5m next year. The only way he works is if Lehner is gone. The backup next year needs to be Thompson, but the real question mark is going to be Lehner's health. When healthy he's good enough to win with, but at this point him staying healthy with a starters workload is a totally valid concern.
