Meh. One doesn't have to like shot metrics as stats, but that's just dumb. Flaunting of ignorance is never a good look.
I think it was more of a joke tbhman I hope he doesn't value throwing hits more than cf%
is he? Johnsson has actually been good
also there's no guarantee he'd stay on the 4th line. Last year he was 2nd among forwards in ice time in the playoffs despite being our worst player
4 goal night incoming.Matthews career vs Detroit;
6GP 7G 2A 9PTS +3 4GWG 18Shots
man I hope he doesn't value throwing hits more than cf%
Komorov will be in this lineup when he is healthy. Especially if we play Boston.
Last game the units were: 1st unit Hyman/Kappy and 2nd unit Brown/Plekanec.I hope so, we need him on the PK. Right now our 1st PK unit is Brown-Hyman I believe?
I know Brown messed up on that power play goal against in Nashville, however they still killed off 5/6 penalties.I hope so, we need him on the PK. Right now our 1st PK unit is Brown-Hyman I believe?
Yeah besides that glaring mistake they did well on the PK.I know Brown messed up on that power play goal against in Nashville, however they still killed off 5/6 penalties.

I hope it was a joke, but idk. It would explain why Polak has a spot locked down even though Carrick has been betterI think it was more of a joke tbh
I think babcock was just taking a shot at the holes in valuing only numbers, not so much hits. Ive been watching closely and alot of times when opposing skilled players are at the end of there shift they will take another shot at an offensive rush against a gardner, reilly etc.. but when they see they are gonna going up against polak they just dump it in lol. Obviously not saying polak is better than those guys, just an observation i notice, that might be what he was getting at.Meh. One doesn't have to like shot metrics as stats, but that's just dumb. To me it just shows that they know about his corsi but have some sort of their own numbers that they track. I don't think you could be apart of this organization if you don't accept all forms of info, seems like that's the point of our diverse front office.I hope it was a joke, but idk. yeah I remember that. I definitely wouldn't like that eitherWell, Babcock made reference that it's "good to have a man back there." I don't know how much I would like that if I was one of the other D, but he does indeed like his heavy game back there. Babcock isn't dumb though, you can play a heavy game without running around throwing hits that take you out of position. It's been rare lately this season with Polak.
From what I saw last game it was Plekanec/Hyman, Brown/KapenenI hope so, we need him on the PK. Right now our 1st PK unit is Brown-Hyman I believe?
I'd like a 3 point night for Rielly so he can hit 50Hope we blow them out. Get Marner close to 70 points and Matthews at PPG. Big games by the 4th line wingers.
Those things aren't mutually exclusive though. Tongue in cheek comments can be ignorant. You don't make that comment if you understand that effective hitting would help your corsi. By making a comment that portrays the hit and its effect as something apart from what corsi measures, he shows that he doesn't understand that. Thus, ignorant.or it's a joke because people focus so much on one thing, they disregard the other.
I don't think it's fair to say D. J. Smith is flaunting ignorance for a tongue in cheek comment.
Amount of hits is a number though.I think babcock was just taking a shot at the holes in valuing only numbers, not so much hits.

I like DJ though, so I'm not trying to make something of this. Just saying that it's not a good look. The reason I said anything at all was because I've read and heard so many coaches say things that basically amounts to being close-minded, not caring for new information unless it confirms what they already think. Nothing good comes from that.
