He produced some dam good talent over there. Good staff signings by stevie.Awesome welcome aboard. I am not sure if he is coming over from this role but in 2002 he became the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's director of youth development. As in development of youth hockey for the entire country.
Basically any free agent signings out of Europe, like Bromé, Kaski, Rybar, Säteri etc.A Euro Pro Scout is on the lookout for, what, 25 and older potentials like the next Rafalski type trajectory?
If so, I wonder how many of those scout jobs exist. Did the Wings have one (or several) prior to this guy?
I'd prefer someone with NHL experience, but this guy does have quite a resume. He's from the Caps (hired July 21014), and that's a pretty skilled team.Red Wings also hired:
Dan Kosinski as Hockey Operations Data Analyst
Dwayne Blais as Player Development Consultant

I like that they're acknowledging a deficiency and adding development staff.
Stevie got rid of Tyler Wright and 3 other guys (IIRC) after the first draft and promoted Draper and hired Rezmeirski and a couple of other scouts. This is just more adjustment. It's never wise to fire an entire staff at once, unless you have the ability to hire an entire staff at once. Stevie didn't have the ability to bring over the entire Tampa staff, so he cherry picked a few guys.Revamping the scouting staff after you're neck deep in a rebuild. Okay....

Pay attention Zadina!

That's true. Stevie "got rid" of the staff that was in place when we drafted Seider who is closer to a can't miss than any prospect in the entire system.Stevie got rid of Tyler Wright and 3 other guys (IIRC) after the first draft and promoted Draper and hired Rezmeirski and a couple of other scouts. Stevie is rebuilding the front office at the same time he's rebuilding the roster. It's an ongoing process, it's not going to all happen overnight. It's like free agency, see who's available and shoot them an offer.
With the departures, pro scouting director Mark Howe, pro scout Kirk Maltby and amateur scout Kelly Harper are the only holdovers from the Holland era.
Hakan still works for the Wings as do all of his Holland era staff for European amateur scouting. The changes here were to the pro scouts. That's true. Stevie "got rid" of the staff that was in place when we drafted Seider who is closer to a can't miss than any prospect in the entire system.
I would be more confident if Murray was willing to follow Yzerman but given the option he said thanks but, no thanks.
As a hobby, I have also done extensive research into what public sources of NHL data are available. Through my research into the available data, I have identified ways of integrating much of it together to provide more contextual and insightful metrics for team and player performance. Part of this involved writing custom VBA code to interact with the NHL API, parse numerous other NHL data sources, integrate all of these disparate data sources together and then export this processed information into a Microsoft Access Database. Then I worked within Microsoft Access to build flexible queries with this processed data to allow for drilling down into which teams and players performed best in different situations. The work that I performed in this area was presented at the 2019 Seattle Hockey Analytics Conference (SeaHAC) in my presentation “Utilizing Publicly Available NHL Data to Evaluate Situational Team and Player Performance”.
