Josh Weissbock's late, great CHLStats.com goldmine was an immensely valuable and comprehensive resource, not just for advanced statistical data but even for the ease with which enabled sorting, ranking and extracting of traditional data.
Earlier this month word got out that Josh signed on to something good and very well deserved. I couldn't be happier for him. I'm guessing that there is an NHL team that will at least rock the upcoming draft and better exploit its prospect pool based on insights only he and his work can provide.
Sadly for junior watchers like me, Josh's formerly public data goldmine has gone dark and is now a prized competitive advantage to an insider few.
Is there anything else out there that compares to what CHL Stats formerly provided? Is there anyone else out there with the chops and the interest to build a better stat mousetrap than the CHL is able or willing to provide?
