There are exceedingly few players to have ever hit 50 goals for the first time in their career at 27 or older and Milan Hejduk is the only one that played in this era to do so. So, no.

He had a 37 goal, 40 goal and 39 goal season prior to this season. He didn't have the best playmaking linemates for most of that, which makes me think he miiiight hit 50 one day if he's ever paired up with a monster playmaker.

Nope. That's an awfully large increase to what he's been at his best and he's 26.

Matthews hitting 40 as a rookie and on pace for 45 this year, with negligible powerplay production, makes me think he has at least one 50g campaign in him. Laine is the best shooter the league has seen since Ovi himself and I think he's more likely than not to hit 50 as well. Otherwise yeah, very difficult thing to do in the modern NHL.
Nice to ignore the only other player to hit 60 in the last 20 years.

he's on pace for 40 this year again because of his injuries.

no. 50 is way to high. he'll be a 30-40 goal scorer if he doesn't start declining soon

Yeah, thats a lie.

No, that's an opinion, and I'd cite his ability to score on unscreened goalies from 35ft out as what I ground it on. Even if you flat disagree, you have to admit he's in the conversation, otherwise you're just being disingenuous.

No, he’s 26 and his highest ever was 40. I think he will break 40 a few more times as long as he stays healthy. Not saying 26 is old

He's in the conversation but I just think people forget Stamkos way too much.

Can always happen, Hejduk got to a 20% shooting percentage season and did it, Perry had a 17.2% season while never getting over 15% to do it.

It can happen but unlike Ovechkin is number of shoot type of game make it unlikely, but he certainly in the possible zone.
