So Peter Forsberg holds the Colorado Avalanche single season assist record with 86 assists set back in 1995-96. That also happens to be the Scandinavian record since no other Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian or Danish player has had more than 86 assists in a single season.
Right now Mikko Rantanen has 39 assists in 31 games, which is a pace of 103 assists in a full 82 game season. That would be 17 assists more than Peter Forsberg's best season. So will Mikko Rantanen continue his hot streak and do the impossible and break Peter Forsberg's record? Or will he hit a wall and fall short in the end?
