Would love to get a look at Lockwood on the 4th line with Lammikko and Highmore. He looks unpleasant to play against.

Lockwood has close to an elite set of wheels....and plays with a serious edge....but not really seeing the comparisons to Motte who was a big-time scorer in the NCAA before being drafted by Chicago.

Lockwood stats in college with Michigan were pretty pedestrian; and so far in Abbotsford he's been an effective two-way forward. But isn't really lighting it up, scoring-wise.

I think the upside is a depth forward; maybe a penalty killer; and 5-10 goals a season if he's lucky.

Didn't Motte play with very good linemates on a great Michigan team, while Lockwood played with humdrum linemates on a much worse Michigan team?

I think statistically, Motte has outproduced and or outperformed Lockwood at the same age every single year. Compare their draft eligible year and their US development league production. U18s they both produced 7 points in 7 games but Motte had 5 goals (which led the team) whereas Lockwood had 1. Granted, Lockwood was playing on a far better team so might not have the same opportunity to shine.

Interestingly, Motte was a teammate of Demko's in the development program and in the international tournaments coming up.
